The Non-Governmental Organization Forum (NGOF) in Cambodia has been actively addressing critical issues since the 1980s, including land mine clearance, establishing a tribunal for crimes against humanity, land and livelihoods, development justice policies, environmental protection, natural resource governance, agriculture, climate change, and socio-economic development. The organization has also strengthened engagement with provincial NGOs, CBOs, and grassroots organizations, facilitating networks to address gender, trade, economic development, environmental awareness, pesticides reduction, Mekong basin community rights, resettlements, and forest livelihoods, with the aim of supporting responsible and sustainable development that benefits all Cambodians.
Under new leadership with a paradigm shift, The NGO Forum has formulated its 2024-2030 strategic plan, named METRI, aligning with national priorities and global agendas such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. The goal is to promote a peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable society through multi-stakeholder engagement. The plan specifically targets enhancing rights, fostering inclusive growth, and promoting sustainable practices to build resilient communities and strengthen the organization. Key priorities within this plan include fostering inclusive green growth, enhancing climate resilience, and empowering civil society through advocacy, capacity building, and alliance formation.
