This position will remain open for future hiring purposes.\nKey Responsibilities\nResponsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment and care of the participants\nFollow the on-ice program set out by the Head Instructor\nConstantly being involved in error-detection & correction of all participants to enhance their skills and enjoyment in hockey\nResponsible for following policies and schedules set out by the Head Instructor (e.g. signing in and out procedures, schedule of activities, etc.)\nResponsible for engaging the participants in a fun, enjoyable and educational hockey experience\nOther duties as assigned by the Head Instructor\nHealth & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities\nResponsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:\nAccessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA)\nIASR, the Integrated Accessibility Standards\nOntario Worker Health & Safety Awareness\nWHMIS 2022 (GHS)\nViolence and Harassment in the Workplace\nTraining\nResponsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:\nWorking in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures\nUsing or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required\nReporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member\nReporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures\nMay also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled.\nQualifications (what we look for)\nPrevious hockey/skating experience at a high level\nComfortable and enjoy working with children\nStrong teaching skills\nTeam player\nProfessional demeanor\nExcellent communication skills, bilingual (French & English) an asset\nStrong work ethic\nMust be at least 15 years of age\nAble to work flexible hours \nAble to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments\nFirst-Aid Training an asset\nMust be able to pass a clear police background check.\nWho We Are\nThe Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
