This is a replacement role.\nLocation: 1565 Maple Grove Road, Ottawa, Ontario K2V 1A3\nKey Responsibilities\nOngoing\nResponsible for managing facility operations and custodial staff to ensure building objectives are met to the highest possible standards.\nResponsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the facility and all systems. This includes, HVAC, sound, lighting, ice making and maintenance, fire protection, safety, scoreboard, communication etc.\nEnsure proper building standards are maintained\nEnsure the interior and exterior of the Bity are properly maintained on a continuous proactive basis\nAssist Program Coordinator with requests and provide excellent customer service\nEnsure setup requirements and technical requirements for events are executed per specifications\nParticipate on committees to assist with event details and other special requirements\nResponsible for ensuring that the assembly and disassembly of the facility are properly executed as dictated by programs and events\nEnsure the Bell Sensplex is in compliance with Health and Safety Regulations\nResponsible for maintaining accurate inventory of equipment, furniture, and supplies\nAssist with annual maintenance projects\nRequired to be available to Bell Sensplex patrons at all times while on duty and to interact with Bell Sensplex patrons in a professional and courteous, responsive manner.\nOther duties as assigned by the Director of Operations, Sensplex Facilities\nPeriodic\nPerform other duties as required from time to time at the request of the Director of Operations, Sensplex Facilities\nHealth & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities\nResponsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (“OHSA”) are adhered to, specifically:\nWorking in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures\nUsing or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required\nReporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member\nReporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or Senators Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures\nTraining\nResponsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:\nAccessibility for Ontarians with Disability (AODA),\nAODA, the Integrated Accessibility Standards\nBack & Lifting Safety Training\nOntario Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness\nWHMIS 2015 (GHS)\nViolence and Harassment in the Workplace\nMay also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled (eg. customer service).\nQualifications (what we look for)\nMinimum 2 years’ previous experience in recreation facility as a supervisor\nExperience as an arena operator (ice resurfacer driving experience)\nIce making expertise (ORFA Certified Ice Technician designation is an asset)\nAbove average understanding of the Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act\nExperience in HVAC systems and refrigeration plans (ORFA basic refrigeration an asset)\nExperience performing maintenance, janitorial and other facility operational duties\nExperience handling power tools and hand tools\nMust possess a valid class G driver’s license with a clean abstract\nCurrent certification in first aid, CPR, defibrillation\nMust be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)\nAbility to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines\nExcellent organizational, customer service, and decision making skills\nProven ability to work independently, but to contribute as a member of a team\nMust be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays\nBilingualism (English & French) is preferred\nWho We Are\nThe Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
