This position will remain open for future hiring purposes.\nKey Responsibilities\nOngoing\nResponsible for operating and driving the Zamboni (ice resurfacing machine) and other motorized equipment\nEdge ice before games\nShovel snow away from exit doors\nEnsures all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility schedules\nEnsures all ice pads are resurfaced according to facility standards\nPerform weekly/ daily maintenance on all ice pads\nComplete minor repairs on ice surface, dasher boards, safety shields, and all other equipment\nHealth & Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities\nResponsible for ensuring that all areas covered by Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) are adhered to, specifically:\nWorking in compliance with the provisions of the OHSA, regulations and internal policies and procedures\nUsing or wearing protective equipment, devises or clothing when required\nReporting any missing or defective equipment or protective device which could endanger himself or herself or another team member\nReporting any contravention of the OHSA, regulations or SSE policies and procedures\nTraining\nResponsible for completing on-line training modules as required, including, but not limited to:\nAccessibility for Ontarians with Disability - Customer Service Standards Training\nIASR: Information and Communications Standards\nUnderstanding Human Rights Training\nOntario Worker Health & Safety Awareness\nWorkplace Hazardous Materials Information System\nViolence and Harassment in the Workplace\nMay also be required to attend on-site training sessions as scheduled.\nQualifications (what we look for)\nMinimum of 18 years of age\nExperience driving an ice resurfacer\nMust possess a valid driver’s license\nMust be physically able to do heavy lifting (50 lbs) and comfortable working at heights\nPossess knowledge of materials, equipment, and methods used in ice resurfacing\nKnowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety precautions\nFamiliar with tools and maintenance equipment\nMust be willing to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays\nBilingual preferred (French & English)\nWho We Are\nThe Sensplex Facilities, an affiliate of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, are Ottawa’s premier destinations for hockey, sports, and community events.
