You will work closely with developers, QA engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to build robust automation frameworks, define and execute test strategies, and embed quality best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. This role requires strong expertise in Java, API test automation, and backend quality engineering, with experience using Playwright and related automation technologies. You will play a key role in improving product quality, reliability, and release confidence.\nHow will you make an impact?\nDesign, develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites for APIs, backend services, and distributed systems.\nBuild, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks using Java, Playwright, and related testing technologies.\nCreate automated test cases and test scenarios based on business requirements, technical specifications, and user stories.\nAnalyze requirements and system behavior to identify edge cases, failure scenarios, test coverage gaps, and quality risks.\nPerform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing throughout the software delivery lifecycle.\nIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support reliable, scalable, and repeatable quality gates.\nInvestigate test failures, troubleshoot automation issues, and collaborate with development teams to resolve defects efficiently.\nReview automation code, promote engineering best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of testing frameworks and processes.\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, testability, maintainability, and release readiness.\nDrive improvements in automation coverage, execution efficiency, test reliability, and overall quality metrics.\nMentor junior automation engineers and share technical knowledge, tools, and best practices across the team.\nHave you got what it takes?\nAt least 4 years of hands-on experience in test automation, software quality engineering, or a related field.\nStrong programming skills in Java with a solid understanding of object-oriented design principles.\nExperience with JUnit, TestNG, Maven, Gradle, or other Java-based testing frameworks and build tools.\nExperience with API testing tools and frameworks such as REST Assured, Postman, or similar technologies.\nHands-on experience with Playwright for API automation, synthetic monitoring, and end-to-end service validation.\nStrong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, authentication mechanisms, and service-oriented architectures.\nKnowledge of database testing, SQL, and test data management practices.\nExperience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test cases based on requirements and acceptance criteria.\nStrong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC processes, Agile/Scrum practices, and release management.\nExperience working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, or similar tools.\nExperience working with version control systems such as Git.\nStrong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, including root cause analysis and defect investigation.\nExcellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering teams.\nYou will have an advantage if you also have:\nExperience with Checkly for synthetic monitoring, automated API validation, and production health verification.\nExperience improving test reliability, reducing flaky tests, and optimizing automation execution times.\nFamiliarity with cloud environments, containerized applications, and microservices-based architectures.\nExperience working on enterprise-scale software products or complex distributed systems.\nWhat’s in it for you?\nJoin an ever-growing, market-leading global company where talented professionals collaborate to build innovative software solutions that impact customers worldwide.
