This technician sets up and performs electrical, environmental, and agency testing to support engineering and design qualification of electronic motor controls. In addition, it also supports activities to maintain a safe and efficient operating environment in the electronic lab.The position reports to: Test Engineering Supervisor\n Job Description\nWork assignments with minimum supervision using established procedures and techniques.\n\nPrepare test setups, conduct electrical, environmental, agency tests, recorddataand test results.\n\nModify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, or systems to correct functional deviationsusing engineering drawings, bill of materials and/or inventory management.\n\nEV / DV testingfor motor controls involvesreliability, environmental and EMCtests.\n\nAssemble prototypes and samples of electronic motor controls.\n\nAbility to effectively use basic electro-mechanical hand tools.\n\nSupport electronic lab activities including test equipment calibration andmaintainlab cleanliness.\n\nPurchase electronic and mechanical components for lab inventoryPurchase andmaintainlab equipment.\n\nSupport the lab audit team to ensure a safe and efficient lab environment.\n\nCoordinate international and domestic shipment of items to customers and suppliers.\n\nStrong knowledge of written testprocedure,documentationand test setup.\n\nQualifications:\nAssociate of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (ASEET) or equivalent experience.\n\nMorethan5years of experience working with electrical components,schematicsand repair techniques.\n\n3 to 5 years of technician experience in an electrical/electronic lab environment preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with electronic and mechanical components used in electronic assemblies preferred.\n\nFamiliarity with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, power meter, chart recorder, etc. preferred.\n\nHave soldering skills to solder surface mount and through-hole electronic components preferred.\n\nFamiliarity/experience to safelyoperatehand tools and power tools preferred.\n\nFamiliarity in design and development of electronics for HVAC or appliance industries preferred.\n\nGood verbal and written communication skills arerequired.\n\nExcellent time management and organizational skills.\n\nAbility to navigate Microsoft Office applications and learn other computer skills.\n\nAdditional Job Details\nEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec\nNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
