Supervises the daily activities of production area to ensure that volume, cost, and quality standards are achieved. Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identifies problems related to production process and provides production reports to assist process improvement. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.Job Description\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities:\nImplements and enforces safety and good housekeeping standards by utilizing 1+5s principles.\nLeads and supports the company’s Quality Management System\nMaintains First5 boards and conducts First5 meetings\nTrains, develops and evaluates employees\nDirects and coordinates the activities of employees engaged in production\nMaintains operating expenses by reducing labor and improving production yields\nReads and analyzes charts, work orders, production schedules and other reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production\nMaintains and approves employee time records\nCoordinates operations and activities within or between departments / cells\nPlans and establishes work schedules, assignments and production sequences to meet production goals\nInspects materials, products and production equipment to detect defects or malfunctions\nResolves employee problems and complaints\nMeets deadlines\nDirects and supports continuous improvement through the use of lean and 6 sigma methodologies\nExperience/Skills:\nMinimum of 3 years as a manufacturing production supervisor preferably in a lean manufacturing environment\nProficiency with Microsoft Office\nCustomer focused\nAbility to work effectively in a cross functional team environment\nAdditional Job Details\nEducation:\nMinimum of an Associate Degree or equivalent experience \nEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec\nNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
