This role works closely with business leaders and internal stakeholders to evaluate controls, identify risks, assess compliance, and recommend process improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness and safeguard company assets.\nThe Senior Internal Auditor independently executes assigned audit activities, including planning, testing, analysis, reporting, and follow-up, while partnering with team members on larger or more complex engagements.\nThis role provides an excellent opportunity to gain visibility across multiple business functions and geographic regions while developing expertise in risk management, internal controls, compliance, and corporate governance.\nWhat You'll Do\nAudit Execution & Risk Assessment\nParticipate in all phases of internal audits, including planning, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up activities.\nAssess business risks and assist in developing audit scope, objectives, and testing approaches.\nExecute audit procedures designed to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and business processes.\nIdentify control deficiencies, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement.\nInternal Controls & Compliance\nEvaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.\nIdentify compensating controls and assess residual risk exposure.\nSupport SOX compliance activities, internal control testing, and related documentation.\nAssess compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.\nTesting, Analysis & Documentation\nConduct interviews, data gathering, sampling, testing, and analytical review procedures.\nAnalyze business processes and support evidence to identify risks and control weaknesses.\nPrepare clear and well-organized audit workpapers that support audit conclusions.\nDocument audit observations, recommendations, and support rationale.\nReporting & Stakeholder Support\nAssist in preparing audit reports and presentations for management.\nCommunicate audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a professional and constructive manner.\nSupport management in understanding audit observations and remediation expectations.\nMonitor and validate corrective actions taken in response to audit findings.\nAccounting & Technical Research\nIdentify accounting and financial reporting issues and evaluate appropriate treatment under applicable accounting standards.\nResearch relevant accounting guidance and regulatory requirements, including U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and company policies.\nAssist in evaluating the impact of new accounting guidance and company policy changes.\nAudit & Advisory Support\nAssist external auditors with audit and compliance testing activities as requested.\nSupport special projects, investigations, and advisory engagements.\nMaintain awareness of business, industry, and operational risks affecting the company.\nStay current on auditing standards, emerging risks, and professional practices.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.\nCPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, MBA, or Master's degree is preferred.\n3+ years of internal audit, public accounting, risk assurance, compliance, or related experience.\nBig Four or equivalent public accounting experience preferred.\nWorking knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, SOX compliance, and auditing standards.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.\nExperience with data analytics or audit automation tools is beneficial.\nFamiliarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics AX, or Fourth Shift is a plus.\nAdditional language capabilities, including Spanish, Italian, or Japanese, are beneficial but not required.\nAbility to travel up to 25%, including occasional international travel.\nWhat Will Make You Successful\nProfessional skepticism and sound judgment\nStrong analytical and investigative capabilities\nAbility to identify and evaluate risk\nEffective communication and relationship building\nAttention to detail and commitment to quality\nAdaptability and continuous learning\nIntegrity, objectivity, and confidentiality\nAbility to balance multiple assignments and deadlines\nAdditional Job Details\nEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec\nNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
