This role is responsible for project execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, and overall delivery success across multiple cross-functional teams.\nOperating above individual project execution, the Senior Project Manager provides leadership through influence, governance, and stakeholder engagement while serving as a trusted partner to customers and senior business leaders. This position does not have direct people management responsibility.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nProject Leadership & Execution\nLead complex projects from initiation through closeout.\nDefine project scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and success metrics.\nEnsure alignment between project deliverables and business goals.\nManage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Management\nServe as the primary point of contact for customers and key stakeholders.\nBuild strong relationships and maintain ongoing communication throughout project lifecycles.\nFacilitate project reviews, status meetings, and executive updates.\nDrive alignment across internal and external stakeholders.\nPlanning, Financial & Commercial Management\nDevelop and maintain project plans, resource forecasts, and budgets.\nMonitor project financial performance, forecasts, and profitability.\nManage contract requirements, change orders, and scope adjustments.\nSupport proposal reviews, project estimates, and business planning activities.\nRisk, Issue & Governance Management\nIdentify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans.\nLead resolution of complex project challenges and escalations.\nEstablish project governance, reporting, and decision-making processes.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and quality standards.\nContinuous Improvement & Leadership\nDrive project management best practices and process improvements.\nAnalyze project performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.\nMentor junior project managers and contribute to organizational capability development.\nPromote accountability, execution excellence, and customer focus across project teams.\nTravel and Working Conditions:\nPrimarily office-based with interaction across operational, engineering, and business functions.\nAbility to work extended hours and flexible schedules during critical project phases.\nDomestic travel up to 30% as required to support project execution, customer engagement, and business objectives.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.\n7+ years of progressive project management experience leading complex projects.\nExperience managing project scope, budgets, schedules, and resources.\nProven ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.\nStrong customer-facing and stakeholder management experience.\nExperience managing project financials, risk, and performance metrics.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEducation & Experience\nMaster's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.\nProject Management Professional (PMP) certification.\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license a plus.\nExperience in manufacturing, industrial, electrical, automation, or engineered systems environments.\nExperience managing customer-focused capital equipment or technical projects.\nExperience with SAP, Microsoft Project, and project management systems.\nKnowledge of applicable industry, safety, and regulatory standards.\nFamiliarity with percentage-of-completion (PoC) accounting principles.\nCore Competencies:\nProject Leadership\nCustomer Focus\nFinancial Acumen\nStrategic Planning\nRisk Management\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nAdditional Job Details\nEqual Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec\nNidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
