For the world's and people's tomorrows; the world's first, the world's best technologies and products; we will continue our part in creating a better society.\nJob Summary\nJob Description\nObjective\nThis position is responsible for the design and development of automotive electronic modules and components, as well as customer liaison and inter-company coordination or new product design. This position demands attention to detail, accuracy and technical competence. Also, in-depth knowledge of automotive specifications and automotive electronics and knowledge of test procedures required for automotive parts.\nEssential Responsibilities\nCreates new electronic/electromechanical product designs based on customer requests or internal development.\nUnderstands customer procedures and implements or adapts development to meet those requirements.\nImplements new designs into production by creating designs and following the entire development process.\nAssists the Quality Department in analyzing of warranty and other customer returns.\nWorks in conjunction with leadership to develop long-range and short-range goals for self.\nPrepares product or system layout and detailed schematics/drawings as required.\nAnalyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.\nPerforms power systems circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and circuit simulation in order to meet customer requirements.\nCompletes power dissipation calculations, worst-case analysis (including component tolerances, variation over temperature and life), and design failure mode effect analysis for electrical designs to meet customer requirements.\nInteracts with suppliers for quotes, specifications and samples.\nUpdates / Maintains current products through research and recommendation for improvement design opportunities of electronic modules and components. Verifies that all specifications are met.\nSupports / Implements the ISO14001 Environmental Policy as it pertains to work activities.\nExperience: 7+ years or 5+ years w/ automotive experience (automotive electrical design experience is preferred)\nEducation: Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities\nElectrical Design in Power Systems (Experience w/ DC-DC Converters/DC-AC Inverters highly desired).High voltage experience (>60V) is a plus.\nExperience with modeling CAD tools such as LTSpice or PSpice, Mathcad, and Altium.\nExperience with analog, digital, and power systems circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and circuit simulation.\nAbility to do power dissipation calculation, worst-case tolerance analysis, and design failure mode effect analysis.\nElectronics prototype construction and design verification testing. Validation testing experience is a plus.\nEMC compliance and design verification testing and review. EMC/EMI knowledge is a plus.\nMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with Confluence and JIRA is a plus.\nThe individual must have a strong attention to detail and be a strong problem solver. Experience with 8-D problem solving method (or similar) is a plus.\nThe individual must be innovative and accountable for actions.\nAbility to effectively manage time.\nStrong communication skills are desirable.\nExperience with automotive electronics hardware design and requirements preferred.\nScope of Supervision: N/A\nTravel Required: 5-10%\nPhysical Demand (Special Considerations): While performing the duties of this job, the employee consistently is required to use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
