This role is not limited to end-user experience. It is a broad technical lead role spanning network architecture, core infrastructure modernization, VPN transformation, network segmentation, security controls, operational stability, and cross-functional delivery.\nYou will serve as a technical lead across both project and operational domains, partnering with network engineering, NOC, cybersecurity, cloud/platform teams, application owners, local IT, and support teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient network services. This person should be equally comfortable working in product-oriented environments that prioritize speed and roadmap execution, and in support-oriented organizations that require operational rigor, incident response, stability, and service excellence.\nRole overview\nThis position will lead technical direction across enterprise networking initiatives, with a strong focus on architecture, modernization, and execution. The successful candidate will help evolve legacy environments into well-governed, enterprise-grade network platforms while also supporting ongoing production operations and mentoring engineers across the team.\nKey responsibilities\nLead network architecture and modernization initiatives across campus, branch, datacenter, internet edge, remote access, and hybrid cloud connectivity environments.\n\nAct as the technical lead for VPN strategy and transformation, including modernization of remote access models, alignment with next-generation firewall capabilities, and improvements to secure user and site connectivity.\n\nDrive network segmentation initiatives to improve security posture, limit lateral movement, and establish risk-based trust zones and access controls without disrupting business operations.\n\nPartner with cybersecurity, application teams, server owners, and change management teams to design, test, and implement network changes in a controlled and pragmatic manner.\n\nProvide technical leadership across routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, wireless, firewalling, authentication, and access control domains.\n\nSupport the evolution of enterprise and cloud networking patterns, including hybrid connectivity, governance, scalability, and performance optimization.\n\nAct as a senior escalation point for complex network incidents, chronic issues, and cross-functional troubleshooting involving support, operations, and engineering teams.\n\nCreate and maintain network diagrams, traffic flow maps, standards, SOPs, and implementation documentation.\n\nUse traffic analysis, telemetry, firewall logs, and network data sources to identify bottlenecks, reduce risk, and improve performance and reliability.\n\nMentor other engineers, influence technical direction, and help establish best practices that balance product agility with enterprise reliability and governance.\n\n 12+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, network architecture, and production support in medium to large enterprise environments.\n\nProven experience operating as a technical lead or senior engineer across both project delivery and business-as-usual support models.\n\nPrior experience working in both product-oriented organizations and support/service-oriented organizations.\n\nStrong background in core networking, including routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise wireless.\n\nStrong experience with VPN technologies, remote access architecture, firewall policy design, and network security controls.\n\nExperience leading or materially contributing to network segmentation, access control, and zero trust or trust-zone initiatives.\n\nExcellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to lead high-severity issue resolution across multiple teams.\n\nExperience with authentication and network access technologies such as 802.1x, NAC, RADIUS, and EAP-TLS.\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts, present risks, negotiate change windows, and align diverse teams.\n\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, and/or Fortinet platforms.\n\nExperience with SD-WAN, SASE, ZTNA, and modern remote access patterns.\n\nExperience with cloud networking and hybrid connectivity across AWS and other public cloud platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with automation or infrastructure-as-code approaches for network consistency, governance, and scale.\n\nExperience in traffic analysis, network visualization, and phased deployment planning.\n\nWhat success looks like\nYou provide clear technical leadership across architecture, modernization, and operational support.\n\nYou improve the security and resilience of the network through better segmentation, access design, and lifecycle governance.\n\nYou help modernize VPN and remote connectivity patterns while maintaining a strong user and operational experience.\n\nProfile summary\nWe are seeking a seasoned network engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with operational judgment and strong collaboration skills.
