NIQ is an Advent International portfolio company with operations in 100+ markets, covering more than 90% of the world’s population.\nFor more information, visit NIQ.com\n We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of professional engineers - potentially including subordinate managers - delivering enterprise-grade platforms on Java, Spring Boot, Python (NumPy), REST APIs, Flask APIs, and Azure.\nResponsibilities:\nManage a team of professional employees, occasionally including subordinate M5/M6 managers; adapt plans and priorities to meet team service, business, and operational objectives\n\nApply a deep understanding of the business and how your area integrates with others to achieve departmental objectives\n\nMake decisions that impact the finances, results, effectiveness, and level of service provided by the team, guided by policies, departmental plans, budgets, and resource requirements\n\nIdentify and solve functional and organizational problems in a specialized area of expertise; understand and recognize broader impact across the department\n\nOwn the technical health and delivery of a portfolio of services built on Java, Spring Boot, Python (NumPy), REST/Flask APIs, and Azure\n\nDrive architectural governance, engineering standards, and platform quality/performance/reliability improvements across teams\n\nOwn resource planning, budgets, and team plans; manage capacity, hiring, and vendor engagement as needed\n\nChampion DevSecOps maturity and AI adoption across the SDLC - quality gates, security tooling, and AI-assisted engineering practices\n\nGuide and influence others internally and externally to build collaborative relationships, achieve goals, and adopt different points of view\n\nDevelop managers and senior engineers; build succession depth and a strong engineering culture\n\nPartner with Product, Architecture, PMO, and senior leadership on roadmap, prioritization, and cross-team dependencies\n\nEnsure operational excellence: SLOs, incident management, cost optimization, and continuous improvement across owned services\n\n 10+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including 2+ years of people management experience (experience managing managers preferred)\n\nStrong technical foundation in Java, Spring Boot, and Python ecosystems, including data-oriented workloads with NumPy\n\nDeep understanding of API platforms - REST API design, governance, and Flask-based services\n\nProven experience delivering and operating large-scale systems on Azure (AKS, managed databases, observability)\n\nExperience with RDBMS, NoSQL, messaging/queuing, and caching at enterprise scale\n\nStrong expertise in DevSecOps practices, CI/CD maturity, and engineering quality metrics\n\nTrack record of managing budgets, resource plans, and delivery commitments across multiple teams\n\nExperience in Agile/SAFe environments, including PI planning and cross-team coordination\n\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including handling sensitive organizational matters\n\nDemonstrated ability to develop leaders and build high-performing, accountable engineering teams\n\n Our Benefits\nFlexible working environment\nVolunteer time off\nLinkedIn Learning\nEmployee-Assistance-Program (EAP)\nNIQ may utilize artificial intelligence (AI) tools at various stages of the recruitment process, including résumé screening, candidate assessments, interview scheduling, job matching, communication support, and certain administrative tasks that help streamline workflows.
