NIQ is looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Product Owner - Television Audience Measurement (TAM) to lead the product definition and delivery of NIQ’s Television Audience Measurement solutions, with a specific focus on implementing and scaling TAM capabilities across newer markets and geographies.
This role requires a strong combination of deep media measurement business understanding, product ownership expertise, and technical proficiency. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in Television Audience Measurement, audience analytics, broadcast measurement, media research, or adjacent media data/analytics domains.
The Product Owner will play a key role in enabling NIQ to deploy and adapt its TAM products and platforms for market-specific needs, ensuring that business rules, data models, operational workflows, and reporting requirements are aligned to local market realities while still fitting into a scalable global product framework.
This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to work closely with engineering, architecture, data, operations, and business stakeholders across geographies. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of SDLC, be comfortable engaging in solution and implementation discussions, and ideally bring technical experience in C# / ASP.NET with front-end exposure to Angular or Ember.js.
The role will operate in a SAFe Agile environment and requires close collaboration with globally distributed teams.
Business Context
Television Audience Measurement (TAM) is a critical part of the media ecosystem, enabling broadcasters, advertisers, agencies, and publishers to understand who is watching what, when, and on which platform. As NIQ expands and adapts TAM capabilities into newer markets and geographies, the Product Owner will be responsible for understanding local market requirements, measurement methodologies, metadata structures, operational nuances, and client/reporting expectations, and translating them into product capabilities and delivery priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Product Ownership for TAM Solutions
Own and manage the product backlog for Television Audience Measurement capabilities under NIQ’s Media Measurement portfolio.
Define, refine, and prioritize epics, features, and user stories based on business value, implementation dependencies, and market rollout priorities.
Translate TAM business requirements into product deliverables with clear acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
Partner with Product Management and business stakeholders to shape roadmap priorities for TAM implementation across new markets.
2) Drive TAM Rollout Across New Markets / Geographies
Lead product definition and execution for NIQ TAM implementation in newer markets/geographies.
Work with regional and global teams to identify gaps between existing platform capabilities and market-specific needs.
Ensure product configurations, workflows, calculations, and reporting outputs align with country/market requirements.
Support rollout planning, dependency management, and market readiness activities.
3) TAM Domain Expertise and Business Collaboration
Collaborate with business teams, operations, data teams, and client stakeholders to define and validate TAM requirements.
Act as a bridge between domain experts and engineering teams to ensure business rules and measurement logic are accurately implemented.
Support decision-making on market-specific business definitions, reporting logic, and operational workflows.
4) Agile / SAFe Delivery Execution
Operate as a Product Owner in a SAFe Agile program, working across Agile teams and release trains, and participate and contribute to SAFe Agile ceremonies and discussions.
Prioritize backlog in alignment with roadmap goals, release milestones, and market rollout schedules.
Work with Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Architects, and Engineering Leads to remove blockers and ensure delivery momentum.
5) Technical and SDLC Engagement
Be hands-on and actively engaged in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement definition, design discussions, development support, testing alignment, release planning, and production readiness.
Work closely with engineering teams to clarify functional and non-functional requirements.
Participate in technical discussions related to:
Application workflows
Data processing pipelines
Integration dependencies
APIs and downstream reporting
Performance, quality, and scalability considerations
Review and validate solution behaviour against TAM business needs during UAT and pre-release phases.
Support issue triage and prioritization during rollout and post-implementation phases.
6) Global Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with teams across multiple geographies and time zones, including product, engineering, operations, data, and regional business teams.
Drive alignment between global platform strategy and local market implementation needs.
Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, delivery teams, and business users to ensure clear prioritization and execution.
Build strong working relationships in a highly matrixed, globally distributed organization.
- 10+ years of overall experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis, or delivery roles. Experience in Television Audience Measurement, media measurement, broadcast analytics, audience measurement is preferred.
