This role plays a critical part in the efficiency and success of our FCM, giving you the chance to lead by example while owning software that has to be fast, reliable, and correct.\nIn this role you will:\nDesign, develop, and maintain backend systems using Python and TypeScript to facilitate customer funding and trading\nLead development teams by guiding best practices in coding and code reviews, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards\nOwn the quality, uptime, and resilience of your software\nCollaborate with finance, treasury, new accounts, and trading teams to implement accurate and efficient algorithms and tools that support the back office\nImplement robust monitoring and logging using industry-standard observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry\nReview code changes from other team members to ensure consistency, correctness, and good architecture choices\nStreamline processes to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention\nCreate and maintain technical documentation for back-office processing systems and workflows\nStay current on advancements in Python, TypeScript, and retail trading technologies\nWhat you'll need:\nBA or MS degree in Computer Science\n8+ years of software development experience designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining real-time applications\nProven experience in Python and TypeScript software development, with a focus on backend systems\nFamiliarity with Linux-based operating systems\nFamiliarity with cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform\nDependable team player with a strong work ethic, exceptional accuracy, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills\nComfort resolving uncertainty, with strong communication and collaboration skills to drive issue resolution, mentor others, and drive change across teams\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, static analysis, automated test synthesis) to increase engineering productivity and system quality in production environments\nAbility to take full ownership of projects, from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration\nMust be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available\nBonus Points for:\nDirect experience at a futures commission merchant (FCM), clearing firm, or broker-dealer operating under CFTC/NFA or SEC/FINRA regulatory frameworks\nExperience with CME clearing operations or self-clearing implementation such as GMI or other FIS services\nFamiliarity with treasury and money movement systems: ACH, wire transfers, fund hold logic, account segregation\nTrack record of leading successful platform modernization or cloud migration programs in regulated financial environments\nPassion for futures, derivatives, and trading technologies, and for democratizing access to these markets for retail traders\nCompensation:\nThe salary range for this role will be $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 USD. In addition, this position will also receive an annual target bonus of 10%. Bonus pay at NinjaTrader is based on individual performance (50%) as well as company/team performance (50%).\nSalary and bonus earnings are only two components of the total compensation package offered by NinjaTrader. NinjaTrader offers a 401(k) plan through ADP under which the company will match up to 3.5% of employee contributions.
