This is a hands-on engineering leadership role for someone who can architect and build modern software solutions, guide technical direction, leverage AI as a force multiplier, and act as a trusted advisor to clients.\nThe ideal candidate has expert-level backend knowledge in at least one major technology stack (Java, .NET, or Python), solid frontend experience, extensive cloud and architecture expertise, and the ability to engage directly with stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into scalable technical solutions.\nThis role requires a professional who embraces AI-native development, actively uses AI tools in daily work, and has practical experience building AI-powered applications, agents, and business automation solutions.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.\n\nLead technical architecture discussions and make strategic technology decisions.\n\nDevelop robust backend systems, APIs, integrations, and distributed services.\n\nContribute hands-on to development while setting engineering standards and best practices.\n\nDrive software quality through code reviews, automated testing, observability, and continuous improvement.\n\nEnsure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.\n\nSupport system modernization initiatives and cloud adoption.\n\nUse AI tools daily to improve productivity, software quality, and delivery speed.\n\nDesign and build AI-enhanced applications and intelligent workflows.\n\nWork with LLM platforms and frameworks such as Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or similar.\n\nGather and clarify business and technical requirements directly from clients.\n\nTranslate business challenges into solution designs and implementation plans.\n\nBuild trusted relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels.\n\nAct as the technical point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.\n\nSupport pre-sales activities by contributing to solution proposals, estimations, technical presentations, and client demonstrations.\n\nDrive continuous improvement across processes, tools, architecture, and delivery methods.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n10+ years of professional software engineering experience.\n\nDeep expertise with at least one back-end technology: Java, .Net or Python\n\nExperience with at least one front-end technology\n\nStrong understanding of software architecture and design principles.\n\nExperience building REST APIs and event-driven systems.\n\nExperience with microservices and distributed architectures.\n\nStrong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.\n\nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases.\n\nStrong testing mindset and automation experience.\n\nExperience with at least one major cloud platform (either Azure, AWS or GCP)\n\nKnowledge of: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform, Security best practices\n\nAI Requirements\nMinimum 1 year of daily usage of AI tools in software development.\n\nExperience using tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Windsurf, or equivalent.\n\nExperience building AI-powered solutions and/or multi-agent systems.\n\nUnderstanding of: Prompt engineering, RAG architectures, Vector databases, Agent orchestration, Tool calling, LLM evaluation and observability\n\nThe ideal candidate has:\nPrevious consulting experience.\n\nExperience as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.\n\nExceptional communication and presentation skills.\n\nAbility to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\n\nStrong stakeholder management capabilities.\n\nComfortable engaging with senior decision-makers.\n\nAbility to identify business opportunities and propose value-driven solutions.\n\nExperience supporting sales, proposals, or business development efforts.\n\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.\n\nLanguage requirements\nEnglish (Excellent written and spoken).\n\nHow We Support You at Nion\nAt Nion, we don’t just offer a job - we offer a place where your growth, well-being, and success are at the center.
