Are you an experienced Mechanical Project Planner with a background in industrial maintenance, turnarounds or major projects? We are now seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Planner to support turnaround activities at an industrial facility in Sweden.

The assignment is expected to start in September/October 2026 and is planned to run for approximately 18 months. The role is full-time and will focus on planning, preparing and coordinating mechanical work orders and work packages for procurement, tendering and execution. You will investigate site conditions, define the required scope and coordinate supporting activities such as scaffolding, insulation and other disciplines.

During execution, you will coordinate contractors and ensure that work progresses safely, efficiently and according to schedule. You will also support the handling of deviations, additional work and final handover.

About the Role

You will work closely with maintenance, turnaround planning, contractors and other technical disciplines to ensure mechanical activities are properly planned, coordinated and executed.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Preparation

  • Define scopes of work and prepare mechanical work orders and work packages.

  • Investigate site conditions and identify all required activities and supporting services.

  • Ensure work packages are complete and quality controlled before tendering and execution.

  • Review contractor offers and support execution scheduling.

  • Coordinate mechanical activities with other disciplines.

Execution & Coordination

  • Coordinate contractors and ensure work progresses safely and according to schedule.

  • Monitor progress and ensure completed work is properly documented and handed over.

  • Coordinate deviations, changes and additional work when required.

  • Perform final inspections and support handover to quality control.

  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions.

  • Review contractor timesheets where applicable.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support turnaround reporting and progress tracking.

  • Participate in lessons learned and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Promote efficient teamwork, cooperation and adherence to established procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • Technical knowledge within the mechanical discipline.

  • Experience from previous turnarounds, shutdowns or major industrial projects.

  • Experience preparing mechanical work scopes, work orders or work packages.

  • Experience coordinating contractors and multidisciplinary activities.

  • Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.
