Every project brings new challenges, environments, and opportunities to learn.\nIf you enjoy hands-on fieldwork, thrive in dynamic environments, and want to help shape the future of infrastructure inspections, we’d love to hear from you.\nThe Opportunity\nDo you want a career that takes you around the world?\nAt Niricson, our field team scans some of the world's most important infrastructure assets, from hydroelectric dams and bridges to airfields and industrial facilities across North America and beyond.\nAs an Infrastructure Data Capture Field Technician, you'll travel to unique locations, operate advanced drone and sensing technologies, work alongside engineers and infrastructure owners, and help collect the critical data that keeps communities safe.\nThis is not a desk job.\nOne week, you may be inspecting a hydroelectric dam in Canada. The next, you could be supporting a bridge assessment in Australia or helping deploy cutting-edge sensing technology on critical infrastructure.\nIf you love technology, travel, problem-solving, and working in the field, this role offers an opportunity unlike anything else in the industry.\nKey Responsibilities\nCoordinate and execute field operations.\nSupport our third-party data collection partners and/or clients in collecting data.\nCollect data by operating various drone and sensor platforms.\nStrengthen relationships with drone partners and clients while in the field.\nCollaborate with internal teams to aid in the development of equipment and software.\nTravel up to 60% of the time to support field operations.\nWhy You'll Love This Role\nTravel throughout Canada and internationally.\nWork with industrial drones and advanced sensing technology.\nAccess locations and infrastructure most people never get to see.\nCollaborate with engineers, surveyors, pilots, and technology experts.\nHelp shape the future of infrastructure inspections.\nBe part of a growing technology company where your ideas matter.\nGain exposure to drone operations, photogrammetry, infrastructure inspections, reality capture, and emerging sensing technologies.\nRequired Qualifications\nDegree/diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Surveying, or Remote Sensing.\nExperience in project coordination and communicating with project stakeholders (clients, subcontractors, service providers, internal teams).\n2-3+ years’ experience in field operations.\nAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment.\nStrong interpersonal skills and emotional awareness.\nWillingness to work independently and be a self-starter.\nPreference may be given to applicants with the following:\nExperience with Surveying, GIS, Remote Sensing, or UAV-based inspections.\nProficiency in troubleshooting equipment, software, and hardware issues in the field.\nPassion for photography with experience in optimizing camera settings for differing environments.\nExperience and passion for interacting with external stakeholders.\nExperience working with photogrammetry software.\nEnthusiasm for drone technology and other data collection methods.\nDemonstrated Competencies to be Successful in the Position\nIntegrity - Keeping your commitments to the team, customers, and Niricson’s stakeholders.\nDetail-oriented - The ability to think critically about challenges, focus on objectives, maintain a disciplined approach to data collection, and be able to design efficient and effective solutions.\nResilience- Ability to work through difficult challenges and overcome adversity.\nWork ethic - A commitment to delivering quality products on time to clients and to dealing with clients, third-party contractors, and Nircson’s team members collaboratively and professionally at all times.\nAdaptable - The ability to manage dynamic operations, overcome barriers as they arise, and ask for support or guidance when needed.\nWe thank all applicants for their interest in career opportunities with Niricson, but only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.\nCompensation & Benefits\nPay: Starting base salary of $65,000 - $75,000 annually plushourly-based overtime during fieldwork - we’re open to salary negotiations depending on experience\nEquity Participation:This role includes a stock option grant because we believe the people building the future of Niricson should have the opportunity to share in its success.
