You will primarily work on advancing NISC’s information security initiatives by managing various information security technologies, maintaining a set of critical security controls, supporting several information security audits, and supporting NISC’s information security policies and procedures.\nEssential Functions\nMonitor external security vulnerabilities on company systems and route issues to system owners for remediation\nAssist with information security audits, including annual SOC compliance activities\nServe as a resource to other employees regarding information security questions, policies, and best practices\nSupport the administration of information security and physical security programs\nConduct research, analyze security-related issues, and contribute to projects that strengthen the organization's security posture\nCommitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Preferred\nBasic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.\n\nFamiliarity with vulnerability management concepts and industry resources such as CVE, CVSS, and NVD.\n\nWorking knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS, and a foundational understanding of networking concepts such as firewalls, network segmentation, and access controls.\n\nStrong analytical, research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to learn and adapt in a rapidly changing security environment.\n\nEffective verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism and ethical judgment.\n\nDesired Education\nHigh School diploma or equivalency required\nPursuing a bachelor’s degree in information security, cyber security, information technology or a related field\nMinimum Physical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
