In this role, you'll work alongside a talented team of engineers to develop platform capabilities that support application development, improve operational efficiency, and deliver secure, scalable experiences for our users.\nThis position will contribute to initiatives focused on cloud technologies, application security, identity and access management, and portal experiences. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building reliable enterprise applications, and driving continuous improvements that strengthen the foundation of NISC's products and services.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on core platform technologies while helping shape the future of NISC's cloud and security solutions.\nEssential Functions: \nDevelop and enhance cloud-native applications and platform services using modern software engineering practices and technologies.\n\nComplete complex software maintenance and enhancements independently\nAnalyze and translate advanced level user requirements and design into software, with a focus on multiple areas of the solution.\nBuild and support identity, authentication, and access management solutions to improve security and user experience across NISC platforms\n\nCreate, test, and deploy scalable APIs, integrations, and backend services that support enterprise applications and cloud infrastructure.\n\nResearch, analyze and partner with architects, engineers, and product stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and drive continuous platform improvements.\n\nWork closely with development teams to research, design, and implement new features. \nLeverage generative AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, and problem-solving within the scope of the role.\nFollow industry and organizational best practices\nKeep up with technology trends and innovations in your field of practice\nOther duties as assigned \nDesired Experience and Skills: \nGenerally, requires 6+ years’ experience in software development or infrastructure.\nExperience with Java, Springboot, Gradle, Angular.\nExperience with building and running containers (Docker).\nExperience with Python and Terraform.\nExperience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.\n\nKnowledge of identity and access management (IAM), OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, or SAML is a plus.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.\n\nStrong understanding of application security and secure software development principles.\n\nExperience with cloud providers (AWS) is a plus.\nExperience with SSO and IDPs is a plus.\nProficient with Git.\nCommitment to NISC’s Statement of Shared Values.\nWork Schedule: \nHybrid from one of our office locations: Atlanta, GA\nCedar Rapids, IA\nLake Saint Louis, MO\nMandan, ND\n\nHybrid Schedule: Minimum of working 3 day per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location\nRequired Days from an Office Location: Tuesday and Wednesday - the third required day will be up to the candidate and their supervisor to choose \nNISC’s Shared Values & Competencies: \nWe’re a cooperative, which means we’re ownedby the Members we serve.
