NISC is seeking a UX Designer 3 to join our design team. In this role, you'll plan and conduct user research, translate insights into actionable design solutions, and collaborate closely with requirements analysts, developers, product managers, and other designers. You'll have the opportunity to refine design systems, contribute to high-fidelity prototypes, and ensure our products deliver intuitive, user-centered experiences. \nThis role is best suited for designers who thrive on independent ownership of design problems while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment. \nEssential Duties \nDrive UX design for complex product areas, solving advanced user experience challenges with minimal oversight.\nConduct user research, usability testing, and surveys; translate findings into clear design improvements. \nDefine user flows, interaction models, and information architecture; create high-fidelity prototypes. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure UX vision and product strategy are aligned. \nLead and participate in design critiques, offering constructive feedback and incorporating feedback from others. \nContribute to and refine the design system to ensure product consistency and scalability. \nAdvocate for user-centered design principles. \nProvide informal mentorship and feedback to junior designers. \nCommitment to NISC's Statement of Shared Values. \nOther duties as assigned. \nEssential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities \n5+ years of professional experience in UX design, with an emphasis on complex product design.\nProficiency in AI-assisted design tools (e.g., Claude); experience with traditional design tools (Axure, Figma, Adobe XD) a plus but not required. \nSolid background in user research, usability testing, and analysis. \nAbility to organize content effectively for intuitive navigation and usability. \nStrong presentation and storytelling skills to communicate design rationale. \nUnderstanding of iterative design and Agile development practices. \nWorking knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, with ability to partner effectively with developers. \nStrong knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG compliance). \nSkilled in facilitating design critiques and heuristic reviews. \nAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. \nAbility to travel up to 25% as needed to meet project goals. \nEducation Preferred \nBachelor's degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). \nMinimum Physical Requirements: \nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
