They will oversee the distribution system in real time to ensure safe, reliable, delivery of service to customers and communities. Arrangers will work out of the distribution control center, which operates 24/7, and will be required to work shifts accordingly.\nEssential Functions\nDemonstrate Safety Leadership by promoting and assuring a safe working environment, as well as helping to support the continued improvement of electric operations public safety.\nCollaborate with and build strong working relationships with internal and external groups to coordinate work efforts.\nEnsures work is completed according to company standards, regulation, processes and procedures.\nCultivate and advance a diverse and inclusive environment.\nUtilize OMS, SCADA, and other operational programs and systems to monitor and maintain the health of the distribution system.\nReview all planned switching requests and analyze all system impacts and feasibility, including working with field operations and planning engineers.\nPrepare and review all planned switching orders on the distribution system.\nAssist in all emergency switching requests and outage restoration, collaborating with ESSO supervisor, distribution dispatchers and dispatch operators.\nMonitor Distribution Automation System for real time alarms and status changes.\nTrack all switching on the system take out and go back dates are in compliance.\nRun ADMS analysis such as Power Flow, Fault Location Analysis, Feeder Load Management and other in the future.\nVerification and commissioning of GIS data in NMS.\nWork with NMS support team to update and validate model in OMS.\nPeriodically assume duties of ESSO Supervisor.\nRespond to emergencies within the company established procedures, incident command system structure, and storm recovery structure.\n Required Qualifications For Position\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n4+ years of experience in the electric utility industry operations or engineering\nDemonstrate knowledge and ability to quickly assess and make sound decisions in emergency situations.\nAbility to motivate stakeholders with varying priorities to accomplish a common goal.\nStrong organizational and planning skills.\nDemonstrated ability to use variety of technologies used for everyday tasks.\nKnowledge of distribution and transmission line and substation (troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational activities)\nUnderstand of single line diagrams, engineering drawings, prints, and standards.\nPeriodically assuming duties of ESSO Supervisor.\nAdditional hours more than 40/week, shift rotations (4x4 days and nights) and/or out of town or overnight travel may be required to meet expectations of this position.\nComplete and pass NIPSCO’s General Order training.\nBasic understanding of electrical concepts and theories.\nWork daily in the following software applications: iTOA, NMS, GIS, SAP, CIS, ESO1, SCADA, CYME, and MS Office suite of applications\nProvide technical support and operational data to various operating, planning, and engineering groups to assist in the planning, installation, and operation of new equipment additions to the electric system with emphasis on future operational needs, system reliability, and safe switching practices.\nAssigns equipment designations for electric line switches, new and existing lines, and addresses special operating conditions within these areas.\nMonitors current electric system operating conditions using Network Management System (NMS) and other computer databased systems, as they become available, for abnormalities affecting or having the potential to affect safety and/or system reliability.\nCommunicates frequently with Planning, Engineering, Substation, Construction, Technical Services, Local Operating personnel, and customer groups to address current and future operational and construction issues.\nValid driver’s license.\n Preferred Additional Qualifications for Position\nBachelor's Degree\nCertified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI\nPhysical Demands\nStanding - Constantly\nWalking - Constantly\nSitting - Rarely\nLifting - Constantly\nCarrying - Constantly\nPushing - Constantly\nPulling - Constantly\nClimbing - Constantly\nBalancing - Constantly\nStooping - Constantly\nKneeling - Constantly\nCrouching - Constantly\nCrawling - Constantly\nReaching - Constantly\nHandling - Constantly\nGrasping - Constantly\nFeeling - Constantly\nTalking - Constantly\nHearing - Frequently\nRepetitive Motions - Constantly\nEye/Hand/Foot Coordination - Constantly\nThe preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position.\nAs a public utility, NiSource provides essential services to customers 24/7.
