The role is based in Columbus, OH. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the reporting location to be eligible.\nEssential Functions\nSuccessful applicants will become integral members of the department, while learning within a team environment, completing meaningful tasks and collaborating with managers on important projects. Interns will obtain a broad overview of NiSource's operations and current events in the utilities industry.\nFinancial Planning Department\nThe intern will gain hands-on experience in performing functions such as building long range financial plans, budget to actual analysis, preparing operating expense forecasts, developing variance analysis and producing monthly and quarterly management reports.\nRequired Qualifications For Position\nCurrently enrolled in an accredited university with major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related business discipline\nCompletion of intermediate-level coursework\nPreferred GPA of 3.0 or higher\nStrong financial acumen and analytical ability\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency in MS Excel and Word\nPositive attitude and strong work ethic\nAuthorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship\nPhysical Demands\nThe preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position.\nAs a public utility, NiSource provides essential services to customers 24/7.
