Ensures effective prioritizing and assignment of all metering related work requests and all related pertinent information to safely deliver compliance and exceptional customer service.\nEssential Functions\nMakes sound decisions based on customer satisfaction, economic value, and safety of field personnel. \nEvaluates field personnel performance. Provide recognition for good performance and corrective coaching and corrective action/discipline for unacceptable performance. \nManages the effective scheduling and oversight of a mobile workforce \nStrategy development to deliver the corporate vision and fulfill the Operating Model \nCommunication to field operations management on key strategic and operational matters \nIdentification, implementation and use of enabling technology for managing work \nDirects team members to prioritize and assign orders to assure all commitments are met \nChampions consistency and collaboration throughout Operations \nProvides effective communication, motivation, guidance, training and knowledge to the team members \nManages toward aggressive financial and departmental targets \nDevelops and implements plans to ensure elevated customer satisfaction levels \nAnalyzes various systems for resource optimization \nBudgets management and adherence \nOversees Electric Metering department and function \nOversees the installation, removing and testing of electronic control or electronic demand \nCoaches staff for proper work performance with respect to productivity, safety and quality to meet and exceed customer satisfaction. \nDirects problem solving in the field with respect to system operational difficulties. \nRequired Qualifications for Position\n3 + years of utility field operations experience \nPrior 3 + supervisory experience in utility field operations\nDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively with peers \nAbility to facilitate consensus \nExcellent oral and written communication skills \nWorking knowledge of PC applications \nDemonstrated sense of urgency, commitment, follow through and execution \nTime management skills \nAbility to draw accurate conclusions from quantitative information and make sound decisions \nAbility to properly coordinate and manage multiple tasks. \nGood supervisory and leadership skills. \nOrganizational and communication skills. \nCustomer oriented. \nUnderstanding electric and gas theory and field work practices. \nWorking knowledge of computers and NIPSCO operating systems, such as CIS \nProven ability to make rational decisions under pressure \nMeter data analysis and performance monitoring.\nKPI development and tracking.\nRoot cause analysis of metering and billing issues.\nProficiency with: \nAMI Systems\nMeter Data Management Systems (MDMS)\nSAP or Maximo\nGIS\nMicrosoft Excel\nPower BI\nPreferred Additional Qualifications for Position \nBachelor's Degree\n5+ years of leadership experience \n5+ years of operations experience \nExtensive distribution operations and /or engineering experience\nExpert knowledge of commercial and industrial revenue metering systems\nUnderstanding of transformer-rated metering (CT/PT installations)\nAdvanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and meter communications expertise\nMeter testing, calibration, and troubleshooting oversight\nKnowledge of meter data management systems and interval data analysis\nAbility to review and approve metering designs for complex customer installations.\nPhysical Demands\nThe preceding description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required of the position.\nAs a public utility, NiSource provides essential services to customers 24/7.
