This is an opportunity to take ownership of the monthly close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations while strengthening internal controls and improving accounting processes. You will also be the primary day-to-day contact for our external auditors.\nYou'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, drive improvements, and gain exposure to FP&A, treasury, manufacturing finance, and capital projects.\nWe're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes initiative, and is equally comfortable managing accounting processes and rolling up their sleeves to get things done.\nWhat You'll Do\nLead the monthly close: Own the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. Manage the close calendar and drive close-cycle improvements, including a shorter timeline, standardized reconciliation templates, and automation.\nOversee accounting operations: Manage AP, AR, cash transactions, and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing. Own the chart of accounts, GL hygiene, and balance sheet integrity.\nStrengthen financial reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, analyze budget-to-actual variances, and provide meaningful insights to finance leadership.\nSupport technical accounting: Research and document accounting treatments for complex transactions, working with finance leadership and external advisors as needed.\nBuild manufacturing accounting capabilities: Partner with Operations and Engineering to establish and improve cost accounting, inventory, capital expenditure, and project cost tracking processes.\nSupport financial planning: Assist with budgeting, cash forecasting, financial analysis, and capital-project reporting.\nManage audit and compliance: Coordinate annual audits and financial statement preparation, serve as the primary day-to-day contact for external auditors, maintain supporting schedules, work with tax advisors, and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.\nImprove processes and controls: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen internal controls, improve systems, and build scalable accounting processes.\nCollaborate across the business: Coordinate accounting activities and work with internal and external team members to resolve issues and support business initiatives.\nLead accounting team: Mentor and coach junior accounting staff.\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or both.\nStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting.\nExperience leading a month-end close or managing complex audit engagements, with the ability to take ownership of accounting operations.\nStrong Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems.\nProactive, detail-oriented problem-solver with strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nActive CPA license with Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience.\nExperience with cost accounting, inventory, or manufacturing operations.\nExperience improving accounting processes, strengthening internal controls, or implementing accounting systems.\nWhy Join Nitricity?\nMeaningful ownership and impact: Take ownership of key accounting functions and help shape how the finance organization operates as the company grows.\nBroad exposure: Gain experience across accounting, FP&A, treasury, and manufacturing finance.\nCareer development: Expand your leadership capabilities, deepen your technical expertise, and take on increasing responsibility as the company scales.\nWork Location and Eligibility\nThis is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Fremont, CA. You will work onsite at least 3 days per week.
