We are now looking for a Software Engineer Intern to support our team in developing and optimising software solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to the design, development, and improvement of key systems. \nWhat you’ll do: \nHelp build a governed semantic layer that defines Nitro's core business metrics and entities, powering an AI data agent that lets teams ask questions of our data in plain language.\nWork with product, finance and revenue teams to translate business definitions into clear, consistent data definitions.\nWrite and test SQL and Python to model data in Snowflake and dbt, and check that metrics are accurate and match existing dashboards.\nEvaluate and improve the data agent's answers, designing test sets and measuring accuracy.\nExplore and build machine learning models on product usage and customer data, such as churn, conversion or user behaviour.\nShare your findings through clear write-ups, notebooks or dashboards, and present them to the team.\nWhat we’re looking for: \nCurrently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.\nComfortable with Python (pandas, scikit-learn or similar) and SQL.\nA good grounding in statistics and core machine learning concepts, and genuine enjoyment of working on ML problems.\nInterest in LLMs, AI agents or semantic layers. Hands-on experience with tools like dbt, Snowflake or LLM APIs is desired but not required.\nCuriosity about how businesses measure success, and care for getting the numbers right.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to explain technical work to non-technical people.\nAbility to work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.\nFamiliarity with version control systems (for example: Git).\nAbout you \nYou're not just bright, you shine!
