As we continue to grow our market share, we strive to position ourselves and build on our successful model of client delivery by expanding our transportation engineering capabilities.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop and oversee all aspects of transportation engineering projects for local and state government clients (MassDOT, City of Boston, and Municipal Agencies), and private clients \nStaff and supervise the project team (including subconsultants), coordinating their efforts, mediating any disagreements, mentoring staff, and making decisions which reflect the best interest of both the company and its clients\nPerform technical quality control reviews\nPrepare and oversee the preparation of milestone and final submissions\nManage the design of roadways, streets, intersections, rail trails, shared-use paths, other ancillary facilities, and transportation studies\nOversee the preparation of construction documents, specifications, estimates, and engineering reports\nDevelop new business and serve as the face of Nitsch for conferences and professional organizations\nLead and advocate for the professional development of existing staff\nRequirements\nBS in Civil Engineering\nMassachusetts Professional Engineer License, or the ability to obtain one within one year if currently licensed in another state \n10+ years’ experience in Transportation/Highway engineering\nAdvanced knowledge of engineering programs including, but not limited to, AutoCAD Civil 3D\nKnowledge of project management roles and responsibilities and a history of successful client management\nAbility to see the big picture and create staffing plans to adequately staff both current and future projects\nExperience in performing and overseeing analysis and design, preparing calculations, developing details, preparing specifications and estimates as well as managing the preparation of bid documents is required\nUnderstanding of project metrics, including scope, budget, multiplier, additional service needs, and programs used to track metrics\nExperience with construction administration services including interpreting design intent, evaluating construction for compliance with contract documents, and directing of engineering support personnel\nExperience in preparing proposals, business development, and the ability to make public presentations\nAs an employee-owned firm, we’re proud to offer rewarding ownership opportunities and an annual bonus program that reflects our shared success.
