You will help ensure that Nium's products are designed, launched and operated in line with regulatory expectations across multiple jurisdictions.\nThis role goes beyond interpreting regulation. You will understand how products and payment flows work end-to-end, identify regulatory and financial crime risks, and work with Product and Engineering teams to design practical controls directly into the product and operating model.\nWe are looking for a builder and systems thinker who can turn complex regulatory requirements into scalable solutions.\nResponsibilities\nProduct Advisory & Risk\nPartner with Product, Business and Engineering teams from ideation through launch and ongoing product evolution.\nUnderstand customer journeys, product architecture and end-to-end payment flows.\nAssess new products, features, payment methods, partnerships and material product changes.\nIndependently lead New Product Risk Assessments (NPRAs) and identify regulatory, financial crime and operational risks.\nTranslate regulatory obligations into clear product requirements and proportionate controls.\nChallenge product designs where risks are not adequately addressed and help teams develop workable alternatives.\nProduct Assurance\nReview existing products and processes for compliance gaps and emerging risks.\nAssess the impact of new markets, products, payment flows and material changes.\nDrive remediation of identified gaps and track controls through implementation.\nIdentify systemic risks and reusable solutions across products rather than solving issues individually.\nContribute to periodic Product Compliance health reviews and ongoing oversight.\nRegulatory Intelligence\nMonitor regulatory developments relevant to Nium's products and markets.\nAssess how regulatory changes impact product design, processes and controls.\nDevelop reusable jurisdictional guidance, playbooks and compliance knowledge.\nPartner with regional Compliance and MLRO teams to translate local requirements into scalable product solutions.\nAI & Automation\nIdentify opportunities to use technology and AI to make Product Compliance more scalable and effective.\nHelp develop AI-assisted compliance workflows and knowledge-management capabilities.\nIdentify repetitive compliance activities that can be automated.\nContribute to initiatives such as Compliance Copilot and other Product Compliance tooling.\nRequirements\n5-7 years of experience in Product Compliance, Payments Risk, Financial Crime, Product Risk, Product Management, or a similar role within fintech, payments or financial services.\nStrong understanding of digital products, payment flows and customer journeys.\nExperience translating regulatory or risk requirements into practical product, process or control solutions.\nExperience working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Business, Risk and/or Compliance teams.\nAbility to independently manage ambiguous problems and drive them from assessment through recommendation and implementation.\nStrong written and verbal communication, structured problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.\nComfortable influencing teams without relying on formal authority.\nStrongly Preferred\nCross-border payments and remittances\nStablecoins, digital assets or crypto\nCards and card issuing\nFraud and financial crime\nKYC/KYB and customer lifecycle controls\nMulti-jurisdictional regulatory environments\nNice to have: SQL, APIs, workflow/automation tools and experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nBecome a trusted Product Compliance partner to Product and Business teams.\nIndependently assess complex products, customer journeys and payment flows.\nLead Product Risk Assessments and translate regulatory requirements into pragmatic, scalable controls.\nIdentify and drive resolution of product compliance gaps.\nIdentify systemic risks and opportunities to improve controls across products.\nBuild reusable Product Compliance frameworks, playbooks and knowledge assets.\nHelp make Product Compliance more technology-enabled and scalable.\nWhat This Role Is Not\nThis is not a traditional compliance operations or investigations role.\nExperience in AML, KYC/KYB, sanctions or financial crime is valuable, but we are not primarily looking for someone whose experience has been limited to:\nAML investigations or transaction monitoring\nKYC/KYB operations or document verification\nSanctions screening operations\nCase management\nRegulatory reporting execution\nManual compliance reviews with limited product or technology engagement\nWe are looking for someone who enjoys asking:\nHow does this product work end-to-end?\nWhere does regulatory or financial crime risk enter the flow?\nWhat is the simplest effective control?\nHow can we make compliance the default rather than an afterthought?\nHow can technology and AI make the control more
