This role offers the opportunity to grow technical depth while contributing to production systems that operate at scale.\nAbout the Role\nYou’ll design and own backend services end-to-end in a serverless architecture, making informed decisions across DynamoDB and Postgres. You’ll optimize performance and cost, implement event-driven systems, and lead small backend initiatives.\nYou’ll take accountability for production reliability, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to deliver scalable, globally resilient systems.\nThis role is for engineers who combine technical depth with ownership and leadership.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and own end-to-end backend features in a serverless environment.\n\nArchitect scalable and maintainable REST APIs.\n\nDesign and optimize data models in DynamoDB based on access patterns.\n\nDesign relational schemas and optimize queries in Postgres.\n\nMake informed decisions between NoSQL and relational approaches.\n\nImplement event-driven components where appropriate.\n\nOwn production deployments, monitoring, and rollback strategies.\n\nOptimize performance and AWS costs at the service level.\n\nLead small backend initiatives or feature pods.\n\nParticipate in incident response and conduct root cause analysis.\n\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews.\n\nProactively identify technical debt and drive improvements.\n\nCollaborate closely with Product and Frontend teams to shape technical solutions aligned with user needs.\n\nRequirements\n3+ years of backend development experience.\n\nStrong proficiency in Python.\n\nExperience designing scalable APIs in distributed systems.\n\nStrong hands-on experience with:\nAWS Lambda and API Gateway\n\nDynamoDB (schema design, indexing, performance tuning)\n\nPostgres (query optimization, indexing, transactions)\n\nExperience with event-driven architecture patterns.\n\nSolid understanding of system scalability, reliability, and cost optimization.\n\nExperience owning services in production environments.\n\nAbility to lead small teams or projects.\n\nStrong sense of ownership and accountability.\n\nProduct mindset with the ability
