You will then be able to attach your Resume/CV, as well as all other supporting documentation in the \"My Experience\" section of your application.\nJob Description\nSUMMARY:\nReporting to the Programming Director, the Broadcast Traffic Manager manages the day-to-day traffic and scheduling operations for NJ PBS’s broadcast and streaming channels. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate programming logs, coordinating program clearances and rights, scheduling promotional and underwriting spots, and ensuring compliance with FCC requirements and established operating procedures. The Traffic Manager works closely with Programming, Revenue, Production, PBS, and Master Control to ensure programming and related content are accurately scheduled and delivered for broadcast.\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nManage traffic operations, including creating daily programming logs using ProTrack broadcast scheduling software or other software as necessary for all broadcast channels to maintain compliance with FCC rules and regulations. \nAssist in building and maintaining the broadcast and streaming program schedule.\nCoordinate with PBS national programming and other vendors for clearances and scheduling.\nAccurately enter and schedule all promotions and development spots following brand strategies, programming initiatives, and marketing/promotional requirements. \nAccurately enter and schedule underwriters following standard operating procedures \nCommunicate with Revenue team when underwriting contracts end or conflicts occur with broadcast logs \nFulfill log requests regularly for NJ PBA. \nFulfill quarterly programming reports for the FCC.\nTrack program rights windows and clearance deadlines.\nLiaise with production staff to schedule locally produced content.\nMaintain programming database and scheduling software.\nAssist in producing program guides and on-air promotion schedules.\nCoordinate closed captioning and accessibility requirements for all programming.\nSupport the Programming Director in special programming events and pledge drives.\nHandle scheduling adjustments for breaking news preemptions.\nAs necessary, perform ingesting, importation, trimming, downloading, and transcoding media duties. \nAs necessary, perform the final quality control (QC) check and send logs to Master Control (Centralcast). Verify logs have reached Centralcast and work with them to troubleshoot any problems that may arise. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nManagement retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nREQUIRED:\nBachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution in broadcasting, communications, media or a related field. \nA minimum of three years of experience working in a media, marketing, or content management organization. \nDemonstrated experience in broadcast programming, scheduling, or traffic operations.\nFamiliarity with broadcast scheduling software and program log management.\nPREFERRED:\nExperience with ProTrack traffic management software\nExperience at a PBS affiliate with knowledge of national programming clearance processes.\nFamiliarity with FCC programming requirements.\nExperience with Nielsen audience data and broadcast scheduling analytics.\nPROCEDURE FOR CANDIDACY\nApplicants should include a resume andcover letter describing how their background, skills and education match the needs of the University.
