You will then be able to attach your Resume/CV, as well as all other supporting documentation in the \"My Experience\" section of your application.\nJob Description\nSUMMARY:\nReporting to the Crew Supervisor and/or Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor, the Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the Montclair State University Facilities.\nPRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nClean campus facilities alone or in teams; clean public areas and meeting spaces.\n\nPerform room set-ups; replace light bulbs, clean light fixtures and restrooms.\n\nSweep, mop, strip and wax, buff floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.\n\nCollect and remove trash, bring trash to curb or receptacles, transfer recyclable materials.\n\nDust all surface and vent, and clean inside window surfaces.\n\nClean desks, tables, chairs, and remove graffiti.\n\nClean offices, classrooms, and work areas.\n\nPerform snow removal as directed.\n\nAttend in-service training and participate in University quality and processing improvement initiatives.\n\nAssist with the sorting, distribution, transportation and storage of cleaning supplies.\n\nKeep janitorial closet stocked and clean; maintain housekeeping equipment.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nManagement retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nREQUIRED:\nAbility to speak, read, and understand English.\n\nAbility to lift 25 lbs. and use a ladder.\n\nAbility to work any shift, overtime and holidays in the performance of assigned responsibilities.\n\nPREFERRED:\nA high school diploma or its equivalency.\n\nHousekeeping experience in a university, school or hospital setting.\n\n*NOTE: This is a Civil Service position. As required by the State of New Jersey, in order to be certified to the position and attain permanent status in title, candidates are required to successfully serve a 4-Month Working Test Period.\nThis position is designated as essential. The designation of essential requires employees at these 24/7 facilities to be present due to inclement weather situations. This position requires on campus work and is not a position that allows remote work.\nSALARY RANGE: O09: $38,640.95 - $55,447.65*NOTE: Salaries for internal candidates are determined by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission’s formula.
