We are committed to delivering safe, reliable service that gets our customers to their destinations on time-and we’re looking to hire talented folks with a love of learning to make it all possible.\nGARAGE SUPERVISOR - NORTH & CENTRAL JERSEY\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nAssists Garage Manager in the direction of daily operations in all Garages. They manage a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring that vehicles are repaired and maintained efficiently and effectively. They coordinate work schedules, assign tasks, and provide guidance and support to their team. Garage Supervisors also handle customer inquiries, resolve any issues or complaints, and ensure that the garage operates in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.\nMain Functions:\nSupervises garage personnel (operators and depot force) to ensure that service requirements are met, and that work is assigned in an efficient manner to ensure safe, courteous, and reliable service for our customers and to ensure proper utilization of manpower.\nInvestigates, implements corrective action, follows up, and responds to customer complaints. Involves operators in solving problems with service. Reviews, recommends, and implements service changes.\nAssists in the development of the budget, goals and objectives, and new programs and activities.\nInterviews, instructs, and disciplines agreement employees; conducts first step grievance hearings, discusses garage issues with union officials, provides documentation and testimony throughout the grievance process.\nInvestigates and implements corrective action on accidents, vandalism, and safety hazards.\nConducts, monitors, and verifies all agreement payrolls. Ensures that all ticket sales, ticket tokens, petty cash and other media are in balance. Processes all shortages.\nAdministers new schedule picks, wage progression and other personnel functions.\nMonitors GCS, and reviews reports daily for deviations in procedures or revenue. Counsels/disciplines operators and investigates/reports deviations to ensure consistent revenue collection.\nEducation, Experience, and Qualifications:\nHigh School Diploma, or equivalent, and four (4) years of applied experience in transportation systems sector*, to include one (1) year of supervisory experience. Degree may be substituted for experience as appropriate. NOTE: Experience as a Depot Master is considered supervisory experience for the purposes of qualifying for this position.\n*Sector includes Aviation, Motor Carrier/Trucking, Maritime, Mass Transit and Passenger Rail; Freight, Military mobile operations as well as Postal and Shipping.
