This includes HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, and other infrastructure components. The supervisor ensures that all systems are functioning properly, conducts regular inspections, and coordinates repairs and maintenance activities. Manage a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nThe specifications outlined are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed by employees in this position. The specifications are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job.\nDirect and oversee the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of facility infrastructure and central control systems supporting NJ TRANSIT River Line operations.\nSupervise assigned technical staff, including scheduling, work assignments, performance monitoring, training, and enforcement of NJ TRANSIT safety policies and operating procedures.\nPlan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CCTV, access control, SCADA, PLC, HMI, and communication systems to ensure reliability and minimize service disruptions.\nProvide technical leadership for SCADA, PLC, and HMI programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and system integration. Maintain automated control systems for Control Huts (CPs), facilities, and the NJ TRANSIT railroad control center.\nProgram, upload, archive, and document PLC, HMI, and SCADA code in accordance with NJ TRANSIT configuration management standards. Develop SCADA point lists and RTU programs to ensure accurate system reporting and control.\nReview technical specifications, drawings, and design documents; support system upgrades, capital projects, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and commissioning activities.\nInstall, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, switches, protocol converters, firewalls, modems, and related communication hardware. Support industrial communication protocols including Modbus RTU/TCP, DNP3.0, Ethernet/IP, RS-485, RS-232, CAN, and ARINC.\nMonitor system performance, identify deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and recommend improvements to enhance operational reliability.\nRespond to central control communication failures and system outages; provide on-site troubleshooting and participate in on-call and emergency response activities to ensure timely restoration of service.\nCoordinate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with NJ TRANSIT safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project timelines.
