We are committed to delivering safe, reliable service that gets customers to their destinations on time-and we're looking to hire talented folks with a commitment to excellence to make it all possible.\nMechanic B- Substation:\nSummary:\nEmployee is assigned to install and maintain remote control equipment, including switchboard instruments and wiring thereof at substation and remote-control points\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nMust be qualified to inspect, repair, and maintain breaker houses, oil switches, transformers, network protectors and all other appurtenances necessary in electric traction substation department. \nMust be capable of taking out clearances for himself and others under the supervision of substation.\nInstallation, repair, and troubleshooting of commercial or industrial electrical wiring.\nEducation, Experience, and Qualifications:\nElectromechanical experience. \nAbility to read and interpret electrical diagrams. \nPass New Jersey Transit’s Electrician Aptitude Test.\nPreferred knowledge of the National Electrical Code.\nPresent a valid driver’s license.\nHigh School Diploma or GED. \nCommercial Driver License (desired not required).\n\nOther Conditions:\nThis is a Unionized position.\nRate of pay:\nThe pay rates are tiered and are non-negotiable based on years and types of experience. Tiers start at $29.11 (80% of the full rate).
