The primary role of this position will be to focus on\ngenerating new revenue while also enhancing rider experience and advancing the agency’s mission.\nRoles and Responsibilities \nDevelop and execute the agency’s corporate partnership strategy, which will generate revenueand advance the agency’s goals Identify, cultivate, and secure corporate partnerships,\nsponsorships, and joint initiatives (e.g., station sponsorships, naming rights, employer programs).\n\nBuild and manage a portfolio of corporate partners, serving as the primary relationship owner andensuring contract compliance and partner satisfaction.\n\nNegotiate partnership agreements, MOUs, and sponsorship contracts in coordination with legal,procurement, finance, and compliance departments.\n\nCollaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, planning, capital projects, operations,and government relations to activate partnerships.\n\nTrack performance metrics, revenue, and community impact; prepare reports for leadership, boards, and public stakeholders.\nRepresent the agency at industry events, community meetings, and partner engagements.\nMonitor trends in mobility, sustainability, advertising, and public-private partnerships to identifynew opportunities.\n\nEducation, Experience and Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, Communications, or a relatedfield or equivalent experience.\n\n5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, sponsorships, or account management\nExperience working with or within public sector, transportation, infrastructure, or regulated environments\nStrong negotiation, contract management, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nAbility to navigate complex approval processes and balance public interest with private-sectorobjectives.\n\nExperience with advertising sales, particularly Out of Home (OOH) advertising, preferred by not required. \nKnowledge and Skills\nExperience with developing and managing corporate partnerships within a transit agency, municipality, or other public authority.\nExperience with public-private partnerships (P3s), sponsorship programs, or advertising concessions.\nKnowledge of transit funding structures, capital projects, or mobility innovation.\nExperience presenting to executive leadership, boards, or governing bodies.\nFamiliarity with CRM systems and partnership performance tracking.\nExperience developing multi-year or high-value partnerships.\nProven ability to build and maintain senior-level corporate relationships.\nStrategic mindset with the ability to align partner objectives with organizational priorities.\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple partnerships simultaneously.\nExperience working cross-functionally and managing complex stakeholder relationships.\nIncreased non-fare revenue through compliant, mission-aligned partnerships.\nStrong, long-term corporate relationships that enhance rider experience and public trust.\nClear documentation, transparency, and accountability in all partnership activities.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nWorking Environment\nOffice-based with ~20% travel to NJ TRANSIT sites and events\nAt NJ TRANSIT, you will enjoy a competitive salary and excellent benefits package:\nComprehensive Family Health Insurance - Medical, Prescription, Dental, Vision\nFlexible Spending Account\nLife Insurance\nPaid Leave\nTuition Assistance\nPre-Tax Commuter Benefits Plan\nRetirement Plans401(a) - Retirement plan with a 6% employer contribution\n401(k) - Retirement savings plan with up to a 3% company match\n457(b) - Deferred Savings Plan\n\nNJ TRANSIT is an Equal Opportunity Employer\nLearn more about NJ TRANSIT!
