This equipment is connected to patients or is used to diagnose disease. Subject to schedule On-Call for medical equipment emergencies.\n Key Responsibilities\nCorresponding Key Activities performed by the role\nManagerial\nTechnical\nPrepare and submit insurance claims for hospital services rendered, ensuring accuracy in coding and patient information.\nVerify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to claim submission.\n\nCollaborate with billing and coding teams to ensure claims meet payer requirements.\n\nMonitor claim submission status and follow up on unprocessed or pending claims.\n\nRespond to queries from insurance providers regarding claim details.\n\nMaintain detailed records of all submitted claims and their statuses.\n\nStay updated with changes in insurance policies and claim submission protocols.\n\nQuality and Safety\nPromoting and maintaining quality in all services and ensure continuous quality improvement measures are in place. Conduct method evaluation/ development as per standard policies and procedures\nComplying with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable\n\nComplying with applicable precautions for environmental safety, infection control, using a series of interventions that minimize or prevent cross infections\n\nEnsuring that safety procedures and quality assurance tests are maintained within all sections\n\nComply and support clinical audit processes within the service and report on these as agreed\n\nCommunicating in a professional and courteous manner with patients, family and other medical personnel as necessary to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, clarify orders and communicate status.\n\nContinuous Education\nParticipating in education sessions for department staff, doctors and nurses on the safe and secure handling of equipment, i.e teaching, induction, peer review, case studies, and clinical presentations\nParticipating in department programs/ committees, various hospital committees, and staff meeting (when requested)\n\nParticipating in the orientation and training of new employees\n\nMaintaining professional knowledge by attending lectures, seminars or on-line education sessions\n\nCompleting and maintaining all regulatory requirements including licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frames.\n\nThe ability to apply technical skills, together with a demonstrable knowledge of and interest in sciences, such as anatomy, physiology and physics;\n\nOccupational Safety and Health Management Systems\nComply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements\nNotifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports\n\nAttend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs\n\nComply with reasonable OSH instructions, policies and safe working procedures\n\nUse of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.\n\nBe familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures\n\nNot wilfully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety\n\nComply with Waste management procedures and policies. Reduce, Reuse, Recycling of waste as much as possible\n\nAttend all OSH Trainings, awareness programs and mock drills.\n\nParticipates in the OSHMS audits, inspections, ensuring standards are maintained\n\nPrevention and Control of Infection (PCI):\n\nPCI is everyone’s responsibility. All staff are required to read and implement the NMC PCI Policy and Strategy in an effort to maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness at all times, thus reducing the risk of infection in patients, staff and visitors.\nThe strictest hand hygiene, 5 moments of hand hygiene, bare below the elbows and environmental care, will be expected of all staff, including the post holder, at all times\n\n Qualification, Licensure, Experience and Special Skills:\nQualifications & licensure\nBachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, para medical, or a related field., or related field.\n\nKnowledge of medical coding, billing processes, and insurance claim management.\n\nProficiency in hospital management systems and claims submission software.\n\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\n\nExcellent communication and problem-solving abilities.\n\nExperience required in addition to the Qualifications mentioned above\nSpecialist Certification\nRequired: NA\nDesired: NA\nAdditional requirements\nSelf-motivation and the ability to work under pressure;\nFluent spoken and written English.
