- Safely and efficiently operate mobile cranes to lift, move, and position heavy objects, equipment, and materials according to project requirements.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and maintenance checks on the crane, ensuring it is in optimal working condition before operation.
- Set up the crane at job sites, ensuring stability and safety measures are in place, such as outriggers, cribbing, and proper rigging techniques.
- Interpret and follow lifting plans and signals from signalpersons or riggers to ensure accurate and safe crane movements.
- Assess load weights and determine load capacities to ensure safe lifting operations, making necessary adjustments as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members, including signalpersons, riggers, and supervisors, to ensure coordinated and safe lifting operations.
- Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining a strong focus on safety at all times.
- Monitor and maintain the proper function of crane controls, ensuring they are responsive and functioning correctly during operations.
- Keep accurate records of crane usage, maintenance, and inspections, reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors.
- Continuously update knowledge of industry best practices, new equipment, and safety protocols to improve job performance.
