Job Summary:

NMIMS is looking for an experienced PR & Corporate Communications professional to lead and strengthen the University’s institutional reputation and media presence.

This is a strategic, stakeholder-facing role responsible for driving proactive PR, corporate communications, media relations, leadership positioning and reputation management across NMIMS’s diverse schools and campuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the PR & Corporate Communications strategy aligned with NMIMS’s institutional and brand priorities.

• Build and nurture strong relationships with national, business, education, regional and sector-specific media.

• Drive high-quality earned media, proactive storytelling and strategic media opportunities.

• Develop and strengthen leadership and spokesperson positioning through interviews, expert commentary, authored articles and thought-leadership opportunities.

• Identify and amplify compelling stories around academics, research, innovation, faculty, student achievements, industry partnerships, rankings and institutional milestones.

• Partner with schools and campuses to create a strong and consistent institutional communications agenda.

• Lead issues and crisis communication, including preparedness, response and reputation management.

• Manage the University’s external PR partner, ensuring strategic alignment, quality execution and measurable outcomes.

• Manage and mentor the existing internal PR resource and build an effective PR operating rhythm.

• Track media performance, share of voice, competitive intelligence and PR impact, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

• Work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across the University.

Educational Qualifications

• Full-time MBA in Marketing or equivalent.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in PR, Corporate Communications, Reputation Management or a related field.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong understanding of the Indian media ecosystem and established journalist relationships.

• Demonstrated experience in media relations, strategic PR and thought leadership.

• Experience working with senior leadership and managing multiple stakeholders.

• Strong experience in managing external PR agencies and driving accountability.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong storytelling ability.

• Ability to handle sensitive issues with maturity, discretion and sound judgement.

• Experience managing or mentoring a team.

• Prior experience in higher education, education, corporate, technology, BFSI, media or other reputation-sensitive sectors will be an advantage.
