{"id":3872057,"url":"https://alion.io/job/noatum-maritime-engineer-project","title":"Engineer - Project","company":{"id":98973,"name":"Noatum Maritime","domain":"noatummaritime.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/noatummaritime","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":null},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"middle","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates"],"countries":["AE"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":3,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"Microsoft Office","optional":true}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-06T09:39:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-06","last_verified_at":"2026-11-08T04:22:23Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":1,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":1},"description":"Plan, execute and deliver assigned equipment engineering projects across the Ports Cluster under the guidance of the Senior Manager, from technical specification and procurement through installation, commissioning and handover to Operations and Maintenance, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality and reliability standards.\n Core Responsibilities:\nEnsure all project activities comply with HSE regulations, industry standards and internal policies, including risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work requirements.\n\nExecute assigned equipment projects (acquisition of new container handling and port equipment, upgrades, retrofits and life-extension programs) through the full project lifecycle: feasibility, design, procurement, execution, commissioning and close-out.\n\nPrepare project scopes, technical specifications and performance requirements for new equipment and modifications, in coordination with Operations and Maintenance, for review and approval.\n\nContribute to business cases by preparing cost estimates and CAPEX budget inputs; assess technical alternatives based on lifecycle cost, availability, reliability and maintainability.\n\nSupport the procurement process by preparing technical tender documents, conducting technical bid evaluations and providing technical input to contract negotiations with OEMs and contractors.\n\nDevelop and maintain schedules, budgets, risk registers and progress reports for assigned projects; monitor project KPIs and escalate deviations to the Senior Manager.\n\nCoordinate with OEMs, contractors and consultants during project execution; review engineering drawings, design documents and technical submittals and recommend them for approval.\n\nCoordinate and witness Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), inspections and commissioning activities; ensure punch-list items are closed prior to final acceptance.\n\nCoordinate a structured handover to Maintenance and Operations, including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, spare parts lists, warranties and operator/technician training.\n\nRegister new assets in the MAXIMO system and coordinate traffic registration and insurance for equipment delivered, installed and commissioned.\n\nFollow up on equipment performance during the warranty period and manage defect notifications and warranty claims with suppliers.\n\nCapture lessons learned and incorporate reliability and maintainability requirements into future equipment specifications and engineering standards.\n\nProvide technical support to technicians and share project knowledge with Maintenance and Operations teams.\n\nPeople Management Responsibilites:\nN/A\n\nStrategic Responsibilities:\nProvide technical data and input to support the equipment investment plan and fleet renewal strategy, including equipment selection, capacity requirements and technology trends.\n\nEducational and Technical Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering or a related field. Project management training or certification (e.g. CAPM, PMP) is a plus.\n\nLanguage Skills:\nExcellent English. Arabic is an added advantage\n\nYears of Experience:\nA minimum of 3-5 years of experience in equipment engineering, maintenance or project roles, including involvement in equipment projects.\n\nNature of Experience:\nHands-on experience in equipment projects (specification, procurement, installation and commissioning) in a port, terminal, logistics or heavy industrial environment; exposure to container handling equipment (STS cranes, RTG/RMG, straddle carriers, reach stackers) is preferred.\n\nProficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office for reporting and presentations.\n\nKnowledge of quality and safety management systems, including regulatory requirements.\n\nSECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONS\nKey Internal
