Nomad GCS does not support the H1B Visa for this position. \nPosition:Engineering Resource Planner\nDivision:Innovative Solutions Group\nDepartment:Innovative Solutions Group\nStatus:Full-time\nOverview: The Engineering Resource Planning Manager is responsible for coordinating engineering resources across multiple projects to ensure successful project execution, schedule adherence, and efficient utilization of engineering personnel. This role works closely with Engineering Discipline Managers, Project Managers, and Engineering Leads to forecast resource needs, assign engineering personnel, balance workloads, and resolve resource constraints. The position serves as the primary interface between project demands and discipline-specific engineering capabilities.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nEngineering Resource Management\nDevelop and maintain short-term and long-term engineering resource plans across all active and proposed projects.\nCoordinate with Discipline Managers to identify and assign qualified engineering personnel based on project requirements, technical expertise, and workload availability.\nMonitor engineering resource utilization and recommend adjustments to optimize productivity and project performance.\nFacilitate prioritization of engineering activities when resource conflicts arise. \nTrack engineering staffing requirements and identify future hiring, contractor, or training needs.\nResource Reporting and Accountability\nEnsure all engineering personnel maintain accurate and timely task status updates within project management and resource planning systems.\nMonitor and enforce compliance with actual hours reporting requirements across all engineering disciplines.\nReview reported labor hours, task progress, and forecasted completion status to ensure alignment with project schedules and budgets.\nCoordinate with Discipline Managers and Project Managers to resolve discrepancies in task status, earned progress, or labor reporting.\nMaintain visibility of engineering performance by ensuring resource loading, percent complete updates, and actual hours are current and accurate.\nGenerate and distribute resource utilization, actual versus planned hours, and engineering progress reports to support project and management decision-making.\nDrive accountability for schedule performance through regular reviews of task completion status, resource assignments, and forecasted engineering workloads.\nProject Scheduling & Planning\nDevelop and maintain integrated engineering schedules for multiple projects.\nCoordinate engineering deliverable schedules with Project Managers and Discipline Managers.\nMonitor engineering progress against planned milestones and identify potential schedule risks.\nProvide resource forecasts and schedule updates to project leadership and management teams.\nSupport project startup, execution, and closeout planning activities.\nCross-Functional Coordination\nServe as the central point of coordination between Project Management, Scheduling, and Engineering Discipline Managers.\nLead regular resource planning meetings to review project priorities, workload distribution, and staffing requirements.\nCollaborate with discipline teams to ensure engineering resources are aligned with project schedules and client commitments.\nSupport resolution of resource constraints and competing project priorities.\nEngineering Performance & Reporting\nDevelop and maintain resource utilization reports, staffing forecasts, and workload metrics.\nAnalyze resource demand and capacity across engineering disciplines.\nProvide recommendations for improving resource allocation efficiency and overall engineering performance.\nSupport management with workforce planning and strategic resource decisions.\nProcess Improvement\nEstablish and improve engineering resource planning processes, tools, and reporting systems.\nImplement best practices for engineering scheduling, forecasting, and capacity planning.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering organization.\nQualifications:\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Project Management, or related field.\n2+ years of experience in engineering project execution, engineering management, project controls, \nor resource planning.\nExperience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.\nStrong understanding of engineering design and project delivery processes.\nProficiency with project scheduling and resource management tools.\nExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred\nExperience in EPC, manufacturing, industrial, marine, infrastructure, or heavy engineering environments.\nPMP certification or equivalent project management training.\nExperience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling software.\nExperience managing engineering capacity planning across multiple projects.\nPhysical Demands:\nAbility to stand and sit for extended periods.\nManual dexterity to operate office equipment.\nOccasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.\nOccasional climbing or hands-on testing activities.\nAbility to work in office, shop, and vehicle environments as needed.\nAbility to work safely around energized systems when required.\nMust be able to travel as needed on occasion.\nWorking Environment:\nCombination of office, production floor, and vehicle-based environments.\nExposure to manufacturing noise, electrical equipment, and testing environments.\nPPE
