For further information about Nomura, visit www.nomura.com\nDepartment Overview:\n\n The Onyx Risk platform is used by the global Flow Rates trading desks to view their intraday risk and P&L. There is an ongoing program of work to update the system with new trader requirements and adapt to market changes, as well as a long-term strategic re-architecture/modernisation program to support additional businesses and increased volumes.\nThe Rates Intraday Risk development team is a global team co-located with the major trading centres in Tokyo, London and New York.\nRole Description:\n\n The successful candidate will be expected to:\nWork closely with the Flow Rates trading desks and quants to analyse business requirements and provide solutions to address traders’ needs.\nWork as part of the global Onyx Risk team to develop and maintain the various server-side processes and APIs that form a critical part of the system providing intraday risk and P&L to the Rates business.\nContribute towards the strategic re-architecture/modernisation of the platform from design through to implementation and rollout.\nSkills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:\nMandatory:\nBachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent\nExperienced Java developer with good knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring) and an understanding of the stages of the software development lifecycle, version control, unit testing and build tools (JUnit, Maven, Jenkins, Git).\nExperience developing tools for the front office and familiarity with financial products (preferably interest rate products) and market risk concepts.\nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong personal initiative\nPreferred:\nPython, Docker, Kubernetes and/or AWS experience would be beneficial.\nExposure and interest in using AI coding tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot\nNomura Leadership Behaviours\nExplore Insights & Vision: Identify the underlying causes of problems faced by you or your team and define a clear vision and direction for the future.\nMaking Strategic Decisions: Evaluate all the options for resolving the problems and effectively prioritize actions or recommendations.\nInspire Entrepreneurship in People: Inspire team members through effective communication of ideas and motivate them to actively enhance productivity.\nElevate Organizational Capability: Engage proactively in professional development and enhance team productivity through the promotion of knowledge sharing.\n Inclusion: Respect DEI, foster a culture of inclusion and psychological safety in the workplace and cultivate a \"Risk Culture\" (Challenge, Escalate and Respect).\nRight to Work\n\n The UK Government have taken steps to reduce net migration to the UK by limiting the number of overseas workers coming to the UK for employment.
