We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electromagnetic Designer to join our Design team and contribute to the development of the next generation of high-performance quantum processors.\n\nWorking in close collaboration with experts at Nord Quantique, the chosen candidate will:\n\nProvide theoretical insights into quantum device design to enhance coherence properties.\n\nOptimize electromagnetic structures to improve superconducting quantum processor performance.\n\nConduct finite-element and circuit simulations for design validation and refinement.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optimized EM components into quantum systems.\n\nAnalyze loss mechanisms and material properties affecting superconducting circuits.\n\nThe selected candidate will operate within a highly dynamic environment and will be an essential member of the Design team, directly contributing to the advancement of our technology at its physical core.\n\nEducation and experience requirements *:\n\nPhD or equivalent industry experience in physics, electrical engineering, or a related field.\n\n3+ years of experience in circuit Quantum ElectroDynamics (cQED) and superconducting microwave simulations.\n\nIndustry experience with a proven track record in interdisciplinary R&D teams.\n\n*Any combination of relevant training and experience will be considered.\n\nSought expertise and knowledge:\n\nDeep understanding of electromagnetic design principles and their impact on quantum coherence.\n\nExperience with electromagnetic simulation software such as Ansys HFSS, COMSOL, PALACE, or similar.\n\nProficiency in quantum device modeling and circuit simulation tools.\n\nExpertise in loss mechanisms and material properties in superconducting devices.\n\nUnderstanding of advanced quantum hardware architectures and error mitigation strategies.\n\nFamiliarity with automation and high-performance computing techniques.\n\nIntermediate knowledge of French, an asset\n\nSought profile:\n\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills to drive quantum design optimizations.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize complex design challenges.\n\nAdaptability in a fast-paced research environment, with a proactive and innovative mindset.\n\nPassion for advancing quantum computing and deep-tech.\n\nWorking at Nord Quantique\n\nAt Nord Quantique, you will be part of something special: working in a highly dynamic environment at the forefront of quantum technology development while benefiting from a vibrant ecosystem located at the heart of the Quantum Innovation Zone of the picturesque city of Sherbrooke.
