Leaning on more than a decade of vertical integration of quantum hardware, we are leveraging a comprehensive pool of quantum technology and micro-electronic infrastructure to deploy our quantum computing technology.\n\nOur current needs\nWe are building internal software tools to implement the next stage of our quantum processor development roadmap. These tools are located at different levels of our software stack, ranging from the definition of a high-level quantum algorithm to the execution of a pulse sequence on our processors in our laboratories. With this in mind, we are looking for a talented individual to contribute to the development of various modules. This person must be able to program rigorously and efficiently to implement high-performance, robust features at all levels of our stack. Working with other members of our Software team, they will help to develop our software infrastructure in parallel with our increasingly complex physical systems.\n We are looking for an exceptional individual who is eager to implement software solutions in the highly dynamic and interdisciplinary environment of a quantum computing startup. The person will need to draw on their strong communication skills to engage with colleagues to understand their needs and ensure that software tools are used to their full potential. \n\nWorking in close collaboration with the other members of the Software Team, the candidate will:\nAnalyze functional and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders\nDesign, develop, and maintain high-quality software tools\nPerform code reviews with respect to best coding practices\nImplement and maintain unit tests to ensure the quality of software tools\nIdentify and fix bugs\nContribute to software architecture design decisions and technology choices\nWrite appropriate documentation\n\nEducation and experience requirements :\nBSc in computer science, computer science engineering, software engineering or physics, or a related field\nAt least 4 years of experience in software development in industry\nExperience working in a scientific field or a R&D company, an asset\n\nSought expertise and knowledge:\nExpertise in Python programming\nKnowledge of good coding practices\nAdvanced level of English (to communicate with members of the team coming from international recruitment)\n\nAny combination of the following areas of expertise would be a good complement to the team’s current skills and will be considered an asset:\nExperience in database design and management (no matter the framework), an asset\nExperience in distributed systems design, an asset\nExperience with Kubernetes, hybrid cloud and/or private cloud, an asset\nExperience with DevOps, an asset\nExperience in compiler development and/or DSL, an asset\nExperience in Rust and/or Golang programming, an asset\nExperience with development of software interacting with control electronics and/or lab instruments, an asset\nExperience with development of software in an industrial setting, an asset\nExperience developing GUIs or interactive application software, an asset\n\nSought profile:\nMotivation and ability to produce code efficiently\nStrong team spirit and determination to cooperate and share knowledge with the team\nScientific curiosity and ability to step outside one’s comfort zone\nExcellent organizational and prioritization skills in order to achieve team goals\nAbility to learn new programming languages and/or new development tools when necessary\n\nNord Quantique is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in its training, workplaces, and activities.
