As these systems scale, automation, orchestration, and intelligent operational workflows become central challenges.\n\nWe are seeking a senior software developer to join our Calibration & Device Intelligence team. This team develops the software infrastructure and decision-making automation that allow quantum devices to be calibrated, monitored, and operated efficiently at scale.\n\nThis role sits at the intersection of software engineering, experimental physics, and system automation. The successful candidate will help transform experimental procedures and device behavior into robust, scalable, and highly automated software systems.\n\nKeys responsibilities:\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain software systems supporting calibration, characterization, and operational workflows for quantum processors.\n\nContribute to the architecture and evolution of Nord Quantique’s calibration and device intelligence stack.\n\nDevelop automation, orchestration, and decision-making systems informed by experimental measurements and operational feedback.\n\nCollaborate with experimental teams to translate calibration and characterization procedures into scalable software workflows.\n\nContribute to software quality through architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and debugging\n\nEducation and experience requirements :\n\nBSc or MSc in computer science, software engineering, physics, or a related field.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of experience developing software in an R&D, scientific, industrial automation, or technically ambitious environment.\n\nExperience developing software interacting with experimental hardware, instrumentation, or operational systems.\n\nExperience working in interdisciplinary environments involving close collaboration between software and scientific or engineering teams.\n\nSought expertise and knowledge:\n\nStrong software development skills in Python.\n\nExperience designing automation, orchestration, or closed-loop systems.\n\nExperience developing software for scientific instrumentation, hardware control, or experimental workflows.\n\nFamiliarity with optimization, system characterization, or operational decision logic.\n\nExperience integrating machine learning or optimization techniques into production software systems is considered an asset.\n\nFamiliarity with quantum computing experiments, calibration workflows, or pulse-level control systems is considered an asset.\n\nAdvanced level in English, to communicate with international team members\n\nIntermediate knowledge of French is an asset.\n\nSought profile:\n\nStrong ownership mindset and ability to drive complex technical initiatives.\n\nScientific curiosity and motivation to work closely with experimental systems.\n\nStrong collaboration and communication skills across technical disciplines.\n\nComfort operating in highly dynamic and interdisciplinary environments.\n\nCommitment to software quality, maintainability, and operational reliability.\n\nNord Quantique is committed to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion in its training, workplaces, and activities.
