Leaning on more than a decade of vertical integration of quantum hardware, we are leveraging a comprehensive pool of quantum technology and micro-electronic infrastructure to deploy our quantum computing technology.\n\nOur current needs\nWe are actively seeking a talented individual to contribute to devising pathways to bridge the gap between the requirements for large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computing and our current experimental implementation of quantum error correction based on bosonic codes. To achieve this ambitious goal, we are in search of an innovative candidate who will join our theory and simulation team.\nYour responsibilities within this role include:\nDesign of bosonic error-correction and computation schemes: Your primary task will involve exploiting all the rich physics of bosonic qubits to design better error-correcting protocols to scale more efficiently toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. This includes designing new error-correcting codes as well as improving the physical implementation of existing codes. You will also investigate ways to improve computation schemes using bosonic qubits.\nNumerical simulation of large-scale quantum circuits: Simulating realistic noise models and control strategies in large-scale quantum circuits is a challenging task. This will necessitate innovative problem-solving to scale our simulation abilities.\nSoftware Development: You will contribute to the development of essential code to bolster our research and development tools.\nCollaboration: In our collaborative work environment, you will have the opportunity to engage in mission-critical projects that involve collaborations across all teams in Nord Quantique. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are required, as you will be an integral part of a team-driven approach to problem-solving.\n\nEducation and Experience Requirements:Ph.D. in Quantum Computing or a related field, as well as relevant postdoctoral experience in theoretical quantum computing research.\nExperience conducting industrial research in the field of quantum computing or related fields is an asset.\nExperience working with experimental teams is an asset.\n\nSought expertise:\nAcademic and/or industry research experience in quantum computing or adjacent fields,\nExperience in coding and numerical research,\nStrong organizational skills are essential, as you will likely work on complex projects with multiple components,\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\n\nPreferred expertise:\nExperience in one or more of the following fields is an asset: practical near-term implementations of quantum error correction, quantum error correction and fault tolerant quantum computation, bosonic quantum error correcting codes, circuit quantum electrodynamics, near-term and fault-tolerant quantum algorithms, quantum control.\nExperience with software development and software best practices is an advantage.\nExperience in high-performance computation is beneficial.\nExperience working with experimental teams is an asset.\n\nSought profile \nAdaptability: The candidate should be able to adapt to rapidly changing environments, as the goals and priorities in the context of a deep tech startup are dynamic and evolving.\nTeam-Oriented Mindset: Collaboration is key in scientific and quantum computing research, so a team-oriented mindset is highly valued.\nThorough and Systematic: Attention to detail, thoroughness, and a systematic approach to problem-solving are crucial in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the results and conclusions.\nPrioritization and Coordination: The ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate actions is essential, especially when working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.\n\nWorking at Nord Quantique\nAt Nord Quantique you will be part of something special: working in a highly dynamic environment at the forefront of quantum technology development, while benefiting from a vibrant ecosystem located at the heart of the Quantum Innovation Zone of the picturesque city of Sherbrooke.
