Our role is to develop and modernise integrations of the IMSecurities Safekeeping & Corporate Action system with the rest of Nordea’s IT landscape. The application is a central part of Nordea’s trading lifecycle and supports safekeeping and corporate actions processes.\nThe Safekeeping system is a vendor solution. The team focuses on components and microservices around the Safekeeping solution, connected in a decoupled way with Kafka, IBM MQ, REST services and API Gateway to the Safekeeping platform and other Nordea systems. The current landscape includes around 20 microservices, with new services added regularly.\nThe application is in the roll-out stage across the Nordics, and the broader team expansion strategy is to increase development capacity with versatile software engineers who can contribute across development, analysis, integration, automation and business-domain understanding.\nMain responsibilities in this role:\nDesign, implement, and optimize integration layer surrounding IMSecurities, including Domain API, microservices, event-driven integrations.\nDesign, implement, and optimize CI/CD and test automation setup.\nImprove engineering quality through automating regressions tests in Java, writing code reviews, and systematic reduction of technical debt.\nWork across the full delivery chain: clarify requirements from business, analyse business and system flows, translate business needs into technical design and specifications, implement, test, deploy and support production solutions.\nSupport knowledge sharing and mentoring in the team, especially by helping less experienced developers understand design choices, integration patterns and production-quality engineering practices.\nUse AI-assisted development and automation in a responsible way to improve productivity, quality and learning, and help spread practical engineering practices across the team.\nWho you are\nThis role suits you if you're fluent in Java, SQL, and English with 6+ years' enterprise software development experience (10+ for Expert role) as a software developer in large scale enterprises.\nThis is the right role for you if you are fluent in Java, SQL, and English; and have at least 6 years’ experience (10 years for Expert role) as a software developer in large scale enterprises.\nYou have broad technical curiosity and willingness to learn the trading and safekeeping business domain. You do not need to start as a securities domain expert, but you should want to understand why the system exists, how trade lifecycle processes work, and how technology decisions affect operational risk, resilience and business outcomes.\nWhile you are primarily a Java developer skilled in backend development to deliver complex enterprise solutions, you also enjoy contributing in analysis, integration design, testing, DevOps, troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder dialogue.\nYou will step into IT analyst responsibilities when needed to understand business processes, ask structured questions, document flows and dependencies, and help turn trading-domain requirements into implementable solutions.\nYou take ownership of problems, also when the answer is not obvious, and you are comfortable asking questions until the business and technical context is clear.\nYour background and skills include:\nJava, preferably from large-scale enterprise systems.\nSpring Boot and Spring Integration.\nSQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle.\nKafka, IBM MQ, REST API\nBuild and delivery tooling such as Maven, Git and CI/CD pipelines, preferably Bamboo.\nTesting practices using tools such as JUnit and Testcontainers.\nAbility to work with business requirements, system documentation, logs, data flows and production issues.\nIt would be ideal if you also:\nExperience from banking, trading, custody, settlement, corporate actions or another highly regulated domain.\nExperience with cloud-ready application design.\nExperience mentoring other developers or acting as a technical lead, code reviewer or design sparring partner.\nPractical experience with AI-assisted development tools, test automation, static code analysis and other productivity-enhancing engineering practices.\nWhat we offer\nCollaboration.
