You will help shape and deliver the cloud and AI platform capabilities that enable teams across Nordea to build, provision, and operate modern data and AI solutions securely, consistently, and at scale. You will join a small, agile, and highly technical team with a mandate to drive impact across Nordea. Success in this role means we have reusable, well-governed platform patterns that make it faster and safer for internal teams to move from idea to production across AWS, GCP, and Azure.\nAbout our team\nWelcome to the Data Mesh and AI Platforms team. We are building the next generation of cloud-native data and AI platform capabilities for Nordea, with a strong focus on secure infrastructure, automated provisioning, identity integration, and reusable engineering patterns. This is not a maintenance role; you will help lead the technical vision and hands-on execution for platforms that support predictive AI, generative AI, and agentic workflows in a regulated banking environment.\nThe team works closely with product owners, engineers, architects, cybersecurity, data governance, and cloud platform teams to ensure our solutions are pragmatic, compliant, and production-ready. You will be expected to combine deep technical expertise with strong engineering leadership and the ability to explain complex platform choices clearly to different stakeholder groups.\nThis is a full-time permanent position with a hybrid working arrangement-up to 40% remote work is possible, but full remote work is not allowed. We expect to hire in one of these cities: Gdańsk or Gdynia, Poland; or Helsinki, Finland.\nYour main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nSet the engineering direction for our AI platform capabilities, ensuring strong architectural integrity, scalability, and operational resilience.\nLead by example with hands-on engineering work across cloud infrastructure, platform automation, CI/CD, provisioning, and reusable infrastructure-as-code patterns.\nDesign and mature secure platform foundations across AWS, GCP, and Azure, including identity provider integration, access patterns, network/security controls, and observability.\nDrive pragmatic adoption of AI platform services such as AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, Google Gemini, and Azure AI Foundry, ensuring they can be used safely in a banking-grade environment.\nCoach engineers, foster engineering best practices, and help build a strong platform engineering culture focused on automation, repeatability, quality, and developer experience.\nCollaborate with product owners, data scientists, architects, cybersecurity, and governance teams to align technical decisions with business priorities and regulatory expectations.\nOwn and communicate the technical roadmap, balancing speed, scalability, cost, compliance, and operational reliability.\nTranslate technical complexity into clear recommendations, decision points, and status updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWho you are\nThis is the right role for you if you:\nAre a cloud platform expert: You have proven experience designing and building production-grade platform capabilities across AWS, GCP, or Azure.\nAre engineering-driven: You treat infrastructure as software and are highly comfortable with Terraform, automation, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.\nUnderstand secure foundations: You have expert-level knowledge of infrastructure, provisioning, identity provider integration, IAM, access control, and platform security patterns.\nLead by example: You combine deep technical expertise with the ability to guide, challenge and inspire other engineers.\nStay ahead of the curve: You have a genuine interest in AI platforms, generative AI, and agentic workflows, and you know how to adopt new capabilities pragmatically and safely.\nWhat we're looking for:\nEducation and Experience:A BSc, MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\n10+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or similar technical leadership roles.\nDocumented experience leading engineers and setting technical direction in complex technology environments.\n\nRequired qualifications:Expert-level knowledge of infrastructure, provisioning, automation, and Infrastructure as Code, with Terraform as an essential skill.\nExperience with AI platform services and ecosystems such as AWS Bedrock/AgentCore, Google Gemini, or Azure AI Foundry.\nStrong understanding of IdP integration, IAM, federation, secrets management, and secure access patterns in enterprise environments.\nExperience building production-grade CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational controls for platforms.\nAbility to evaluate trade-offs between speed, cost, scalability, resilience, and compliance.\nStrong communication skills, including the ability to prepare and drive presentations, explain platform decisions, and act as a subject matter expert for Cloud AI Platforms.\n\nIf this sounds like you, get in touch!\nNext steps\nSubmit your application no later than 31/10/2026.\nOnly for candidates in Finland: A security clearance will be performed for the person selected for this position.\nOnly for candidates in Poland: Please include permit for processing personal data in CV as following:\nIn accordance with art. 6 (1) a and b.
