Be happy. Grow your career.\nBusiness intelligence developers must be data experts, as they work primarily with databases and different types of software. This job involves developing and fine-tuning IT solutions that can include anything from coding to testing to debugging to designing to implementing newly developed tools. A BI developer spends a lot of time researching and planning solutions for existing problems within the company. BI developers also are responsible for building OLAP, or online analytical processing. They also work with databases, both relational and multidimensional.\nThe primary focus of this position is to solve problems, BI developers must always be mining data and presenting it in an understandable way. They should be capable of creating tables and writing reports on their findings, and they often simplify highly technical language for others in the company.\nKey Responsibilities\nThe Business Intelligence Developer’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nCreate and support business intelligence tools and reports, such as physical data models and dimensional analyses\n\nDesign, code, test, and aggregate results from SQL queries to provide information to users\n\nParticipate in the design, development, and analysis of data architecture and warehousing approaches\n\nSupport operational business improvement initiatives by developing and designing new data model requirements, ensuring data model builds align with business needs\n\nValidate data integrity, monitor system performance, and deliver on data and analysis requests\n\nHelp to drive the data warehouse using Azure Synapse Analytics - from system design and implementation through ongoing maintenance\n\nDeveloping commonality across reporting definitions to ensure various groups of business stakeholders understand the output of reports and visualizations\n\nAbility to interpret and summarize the results of various analyses in a timely and meaningful way\n\nEnsuring quality of reports and visualizations through troubleshooting end user issues\n\nCollaborate with internal operations experts to understand their data needs, provide insights, and develop user-friendly reporting to support decision making and process improvement initiatives\n\nCollaborate with members of the BI, IT, and operational teams to drive data governance\n\nStaying current with industry trends, identifying and researching new technologies to innovate the BI process at Nordic\n\nWorking on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary\n\nSkills and Experience\nBachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field or equivalent work experience\n\nMust have a minimum of 2 years, with preference for 3 years of professional work experience in data warehouse and reporting\n\nExperience with cloud-based platforms and tools such as Azure is a plus\n\nAdvanced SQL skills and experience with reporting and visualization tools\n\nHealthcare data experience is a plus\n\nExperience with an object-oriented programming language like python is a plus.\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to build relationships with a variety of internal customers is key\n\nDetail-oriented with ability to dig into the weeds while keeping the big picture reporting goals in mind\n\nStrong quantitative and data analysis skills\n\nDemonstrated ability to seek out, analyze, and solve problems\n\nMust demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims\n\nAdditional Details\nAbility to travel up to 25% of the time\n\nNordic is an equal opportunity employer.
