This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust BI solutions native to the Epic reporting suite as well other enterprise data platforms. BIDs design and create analytics solutions based on an in-depth knowledge of Epic operational system usage and requires a deep understanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of use. All Nordic staff embrace Nordic’s maxims and mission to serve our customers who care so well for us.\nKey Responsibilities\nTranslates data needs of the business to structure and provide recurring data extracts or develop custom solutions for an operational or strategic problem.\n\nWork closely with Epic Application analysts, database administrators and architects, and business users to understand reporting needs.\n\nProvide technical support and training to end-users on BI tools and data interpretation\n\nResponsible for creating, maintaining, and updating Epic Reporting Content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle\n\nResponsible for configuration and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all reporting tools. This includes configuring settings and security groups for custom metrics/design as well. Tools include:\nReporting Workbench\n\nSlicerDicer and custom filters\n\nRadar Dashboarding\n\nCubes\n\nExtracts\n\nThird-party BI tools\n\nEpic data in Caboodle\n\nCogito SQL\n\nDevelops effective auditing and validation processes to ensure accurate and timely availability of data.\n\nResponsible for distributing analytics content to data consumers.\n\nResponsible for maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records. Also responsible to maintain documentation for data sources, report logic, and data definitions\n\nEnsure all reporting solutions comply with HIPAA and relevant data privacy policies and regulations\n\n Skills and Experience\nA degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics (preferred)\n\nStrong communication skills (verbal and written)\n\nCritical thinking and an analytical mind; continuous learner mindset with a focused attention to detail\n\nUser-focused design and data visualization skills, leverages the fundamentals of report design\n\nProficiency with SQL and relational database concepts\n\nFamiliarity with Epic applications and database structure, with the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the data model through data model classes (if not already certified)\n\nAbility to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment:\nFor financial reporting prior experience working with an AR system is desirable\n\nFor clinical reporting: prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable\n\nAbility to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders\n\nTranslation of complex technical concepts\n\n Minimum Years of Experience\nBachelor's degree and 5 years' experience in a Data Analyst role, in a healthcare setting (required) or 7 years of related experience in lieu of degree.\n\nExperience in relational database, report writing, and/or SQL (required)\n\nExperience with analytics and reporting in a healthcare environment (required)\n\nEpic Clarity Data Model Certification Required (see below)\n\n Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required\nRequired to obtain or have 1 of the 3 data model Certifications/Accreditations:\nAccess Data Model, Clinical Data Model, or Revenue Data Model\n\nRequired to hold or obtain Cogito Certification/Accreditation (required)\n\nIn addition, BIDs who are developing reports for a specific application should study the materials for the data model knowledge track for that Epic application\n\nExperience with PowerBI, Tableau, or other 3rd party visualization tool (preferred)\n\nAdditional Details\nTravel to support business objectives as needed.\n\nNordic is an equal opportunity employer.
