Grow your career.\nThe Role\nWe are seeking an experienced ServiceNow ITOM & CMDB Architect to lead the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of ServiceNow IT Operations Management (ITOM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capabilities.\nThis role will be responsible for establishing a scalable and sustainable CMDB foundation, implementing ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping, defining the Configuration Management strategy, and ensuring that infrastructure and application data can be effectively leveraged across ITSM, ITOM, Security, Asset Management, and AIOps capabilities.\nThe ideal candidate combines deep ServiceNow technical expertise with strong IT infrastructure, CMDB, configuration management, and enterprise architecture experience. The individual must be comfortable operating at both the strategic/architectural level and the hands-on technical level.\nKey Responsibilities\nITOM & CMDB Architecture\nDefine the overall ServiceNow ITOM and CMDB architecture and roadmap.\nEstablish CMDB architecture aligned with ServiceNow CSDM principles.\nDefine CI classes, attributes, relationships, identification rules, reconciliation rules, and data ownership.\nDevelop standards for CI lifecycle management, naming conventions, data quality, and governance.\nDesign CMDB integration architecture across infrastructure, applications, cloud, network, security, and asset management platforms.\nEstablish the relationship between CMDB, Asset Management, ITSM, ITOM, CSDM, and Service Mapping.\nServiceNow Discovery\nLead the implementation and optimization of ServiceNow Discovery.\nConfigure and troubleshoot Discovery schedules, credentials, MID Servers, probes, sensors, patterns, and discovery behavior.\nDevelop Discovery strategies for:\nWindows/Linux servers\nDatabases\nNetwork devices\nCloud infrastructure\nVirtual environments\nStorage\nApplications\nContainers/Kubernetes\nIdentify and resolve Discovery gaps and inaccurate CI population.\nEstablish Discovery coverage and data-quality metrics.\nService Mapping\nDesign and implement ServiceNow Service Mapping.\nBuild application and business service maps.\nEstablish mapping standards and service ownership.\nConfigure and troubleshoot horizontal and top-down discovery.\nDevelop application dependency models that support Incident, Problem, Change, Impact Analysis, and AIOps use cases.\nPartner with application and infrastructure teams to validate service relationships.\nCMDB Data Quality & Governance\nEstablish a sustainable CMDB governance model.\nDefine CMDB data ownership and accountability.\nEstablish data-quality KPIs, including:Completeness\nCorrectness\nCompliance\nUniqueness\nRelationship accuracy\nCI freshness\n\nEstablish processes for duplicate CI remediation.\nDevelop CMDB Health and Data Manager strategies.\nDefine CI lifecycle processes from creation through retirement.\nEstablish governance for manual versus automated CI creation.\nCSDM\nLead adoption of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).\nDefine appropriate CSDM classes and relationships.\nEstablish alignment between:Business Services\nTechnical Services\nApplication Services\nBusiness Applications\nApplication Components\nInfrastructure CIs\n\nDevelop CSDM maturity roadmap.\nEnsure CMDB architecture supports enterprise service management and future ServiceNow capabilities.\nIntegrations\nArchitect CMDB integration with enterprise technologies such as:\nMicrosoft Azure/AWS\nVMware\nActive Directory\nSCCM/MECM\nIntune\nServiceNow Asset Management\nMonitoring platforms\nEndpoint management platforms\nNetwork management platforms\nSecurity platforms\nEnterprise application repositories\nEvaluate integration approaches including REST, IntegrationHub, MID Server, Import Sets, APIs, and Service Graph Connectors.\nEnsure integrations follow CMDB identification and reconciliation standards.\nSkills and Experience\nGenerally, requires a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, a master’s degree and 6 years of related experience, or 11 years of related experience and no degree.\n7+ years of hands-on experience in ITOM configuring Discovery and building Service Maps\n5+ years of hands-on experience establishing foundational Configuration Mgmt Database (CMDB).\nDemonstrated experience designing enterprise - scale CMDB solutions.\nStrong understanding of IT Infrastructure and enterprise technology environments.\nExperience with cloud technologies, particularly Azure and/or AWS\nStrong understanding of ITIL and Configuration Mgmt processes.\nMinimum Years of Experience\n7+ Year of Experience in the ServiceNow platform\nCertified System Administrator (CSA) required\nCertified Application Developer (CAD) preferred\nCertified Technical Architect (CTA) certification preferred\nAs part of the hiring process, candidates will be required to verify and provide documentation demonstrating the required ServiceNowcertifications, licenses, or credentials.\nAdditional details\nRemote position\nMust be accessible and available to perform work functions at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays \nTravel up to 25% of the time\nNordic is an equal opportunity employer.
