Coordinate with both technical and non-technical staff and vendors on the implementation of complex projects. Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex problems on both physical and virtual infrastructure platforms. Recommend, implement and document corrective solutions and preventative measures. Monitor performance metrics within the Data Protection and Storage environment such as disk I/O utilization, bandwidth utilization, processors, port utilization. Participate in evaluation and recommendation of new technology solutions. Provide support and guidance to IT for all Health System and affiliate entities. Document work in the form of policies, standards and knowledge base articles.\nThis position consists of ensuring solutions are delivered in adherence of defined standards and policy.\nThe Storage Engineer I position is expected to actively work technical projects as well as provide/receive guidance to/from team members as needed to ensure quality and delivery of work.\nThis position is expected to work both independently and with various teams across the Mercy Health enterprise.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide training and mentoring on technologies to peers and colleagues\nEngage with Vendors for tier 2 and tier 3 troubleshooting on issues identified with providing resolution and remediation\nEvaluate, tests and perform impact analysis for software and firmware updates\nMonitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels in standalone and multi-tiered environments.\nConducts system analysis, configuration management and develops improvements for system performance, availability and reliability.\nProvides in-depth diagnosis for storage and backup systems software/hardware failures and develops procedure for working tasks\nPerform tasks related to the operation, servicing, trouble shooting, and administration of platform technologies:SAN Fabric components\nFiber attached configurations\nRubrik\nData Retention and Archival Storage Reporting\nVirtual / Logical platforms management\nNAS file permissions\nSMB and NFS protocol configurations and administration\nVirtual / Logical platforms and partitioning\nHardware break fix coordination management\nHigh Availability and Clustered configurations\n\nPosition Requirements (Technical Skills):\n2+ years of experience in Enterprise Storage Engineering\nHigh understanding of knowledge for Rubrik Backup/Recovery solution\nWorking knowledge of de-duplication and compression technologies\nWorking knowledge with VMWare VADP and VCB backup APIs\nWorking knowledge of EMC PowerMax storage systems\nWorking knowledge of Enterprise Dell PowerScale NAS solution\nWorking knowledge of Cisco MDX SAN fabric technologies\nWorking knowledge of NetApp Data ONTAP AFF storage systems\nHigh understanding knowledge of virtualized data center architecture and components\nWorking knowledge of Unix/Linux Operating system\nExperienced at SAN and NAS storage monitoring and health reporting\nStrong understanding of server backup and recovery methodologies\nExperience with enterprise-class Infrastructure environments\nAble to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.\nAbility to author technical documents and create procedure manuals\nStrong interpersonal skills, oral communication skills, and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities\nStrong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives\nAbility to conduct research into current and future technologies\nHighly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail\nHealthcare knowledge/background including data privacy practices and laws\nStrong customer service orientation\nExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment\nOn-call availability 7/24 as part of a rotation schedule\nOther duties as assigned\nPosition Skills:\nDemonstrate a deep understanding of the application of technology in the technical environment and its business return\nCan create clear transition plans to demonstrate to a client how they can achieve their long-term objectives in stages\nHave the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients at all levels\nCan keep up to date with technology as it develops and inform their clients of the potential impact\nCan take a conceptual solution and turning it into a working operational plan, for the client\nAct as the technical point of contact for clients and technical teams throughout the client life cycle for incident and request management\nBe self-managing and capable of prioritizing work load based on client requirements\nEducation and Experience:\nCollege diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, telecommunications, information sciences, or related field and/or 2+ years equivalent work experience.\nNordic is an equal opportunity employer.
